Wife seems to think we need a van since we have 4 kids now. Ugh I hate car shopping.

my question is what have you been driving around that can fit 4 kids to begin with ?? other than an suv and personally having had both worlds I prefer an SUV hands down...

oh and btw I just happen to have a little bit of 'first hand' experience here, and if you want safety buy a GMC Acadia.... our replacement vehicle is the same frame/maker but a Buick Encore....

IMO if we were in a van we'd be dead, thank God we traded out of our Nissan Quest a couple years ago...

Just get yourself a used Department of corrections van; that way when you drop the kids off at school their classmates are all like " I don't know what they did, but they must be hardcore."

Pointy, Silver, sorry I bailed in chat. I need to tweak settings somewhere between my browser and chat.

Is there some kinda shortage or transition on the large beckers? Can't seem to find them like before... I'm seeing more and more of the 11,14,15,16,17

Well I have a GMC Yukon XL that seats 6 and a crapload of gear. It is getting well up there on miles and wife says its too big for her. She has a Ford Focus it worked fine for her and she could haul the 3 boys around just fine. When the family went somewhere we took the Yukon. Now we have the new baby and the older boys are getting close to man size rather than kid size. The Focus isnt cutting it. I will check out the Acadia we were looking at Grand Caravans that were 2 years old. Lots of them around and prices seem real good. I guess its all the rental vans.

For all our beer enthousiasts/lovers out there... You'll know what I just drank. Don't be jealous guys. It was reaaaaally good though. Seriously, it was good. No really. Amazing.

what's with all this damn pleasant spring weather??

i was just starting to enjoy freezing my ass off and being soaked from rain.

Bastard...been 37F and raining here for 2 weeks. Another week of this crap expected. At least we didn't get the snow the Minneapolis is getting, but I'm ready for spring.

Might be headed to North Carolina soon. Hopefully they have some good weather for us.

Warrior, How well does that Sawyer and Platypus system work? I would love to leave the big Katadyn system at home if that does the same thing and 1.5# lighter.

No idea, just saw the video. I just ordered my filter yesterday evening. I think I'm going to purchase an Evernew bag for mine.

I have used the Sawyer for ever now, we used them on group survival training with over 20 people for like a week with no issues. M million gallon guarantee and no replacement bags. The gravity setup is great. I recommended months ago but no one seemed interested...well except warrior.

In on three? Been working on refurbishing a knife that belonged to my roommate's grandfather that his (my roommates) father lost in the woods hunting three years ago. When my roommate found it shed hunting a week ago it was rusted to all hell, had about a quarter inch broken off the tip, the leather handle was ruined and generally in a sad state. He wants to give it to his father for fathers day, because it had a lot of sentimental value to his father, the best part his father doesn't know he found it, so its going to be an awesome surprise.

this is the blade after I took a good few hours regrinding the tip, resetting the grind, and polishing it.

we plan on doing a stacked leather, deer antler, and cherry handle, so a lot of work to do before its finished.

Just pulled the trigger on BK5. We've been using the BK15 around the house and really enjoy it. I suspect the BK5 will generate a similarly positive reaction!:)
