WorldWood, I must be easily amused this morning because that one is great!
I'm ready for a weekend of not doing too much, but catching up on a few chores around here and getting a few of my blades back in shape.

Oh, and here is my contribution since I'm not thinking of any good ones right now:

tubgirl/goatse/lemonparty -- rarely am I as happy to not have a high speed connection as when folks start posting up stuff like that.
Worldwood -- you were thinking of the Nintendo DS family of handheld games. They have brain age and several other logic puzzle type options.

2 men and a truck for the move - does that mean you don't want me to come down on the 10th or 11th and help sort things out/get the house set up? (or build you a shed on the backside of the house to expand your knifemaking area?)

haahaa, don't want to inconvenience anyone... and besides I really shouldn't try to move anything, I was stupid enough to help carry out two leather sofas that my wife sold a guy on cl and I'm not sure but I may be paying for it now... my neck and the very left side of my shoulder blade all the way down the spine is killing me, constantly... Not sure what happened to be honest as the pain just sorta came out of nowhere one day, I mean I'm in pain all the time it seems since the accident in one way or another but this is my focus point right now..

we're selling almost everything heavy in the house with the exception of around 10 large pieces that the movers will cart off

I was going to call them but after talking with the wife last night she already did, the $200 is well worth it.... where I'm moving is an hoa so I'll have to check about the shed if anything is just has to be matching, however I may hook you up with some firebricks, koawool and a knife or something to pursued you to come help with some siding replacement :)... I may have to reframe a wall as well and replace a large fixed window in the process of siding..

haven't decided what to do yet, there's a 3 car garage but its no where near as big as the one here.. But I kinda want to keep it clean so I'm undecided how to rig up a shop, as this neighborhood is a little stiff lets just say...

Thanks for the compliments, guys!

Battle creek feel better, I hate moving large stuff, almost always I end up tweeking my back out.

3-car? we could frame an internal wall and section off one bay... :D
reframe a wall? internal, external, load bearing?
siding and windows I can handle as well.
just let me know if I need to bring a compressor with the nail guns.

yeah I was thinking about that but haven't had much time to process the whole house yet, not much room left over in the back of the house but there is a little 'attached' shed in the corner roofed with dog ear walls I was going to enclose/insulate that maybe and make it a dirty room not much space I'd say maybe 50sf... and I was going to keep the garage for the clean room where its still 'house friendly'... then again I have a construction buis and may expand that into a shop instead of storage and if that happens then I take battle creek to the next level as well... with a store front :)

710 thanks for the well wishes brother, wished it was that easy but we're still dealing with the residuals from our accident oct. 19th.... the trip from hell..... unfortunately from what the drs. say this will haunt my wife and I for the rest of our lives with arthritis etc......

but we're still wiggling and that's the main thing...

Going to one of the granddaughter's birthday parties today. Burgers and dogs on the grill. Sounds good. That is all. Carry on.

Man, I REALLY have to get that 24. The seller I usually get my Beckers from does not yet have it in stock though, pff. And I really prefer them, since I've had good experiences with them shipping overseas (cost/speed). Oh well.

Just wanted to say that I'm still amazed to what that 14 can do. So much performance in such a small package. I pretty much use it day in day out, from when I get up until I go to sleep. Especially when I'm at home though. Zero tolerance policy at university and the city where my uni is so...

I finally found my password!

Oh how I wish that were the case (I actually finally found time to get on here and drool over steel that I can't have)...

Been so busy I haven't even had time to hop on and snark.... I passed my Board of Review for Eagle Scout about 17 days ago, still waiting to hear back from National on the final signature so I can plan my Eagle Ceremony, which by the way all Becker Heads / those in good standing with BK&T subforum have an open invitation to as soon as I know when and where it will be.

I also did something unforgivable... I was trying to fix a light switch in the house, and it didn't work out so well.... My RAT 1 now has a chunk missing from the spine that I'm sure has serious structural consequences, and more than likely no heat treat anymore.

I won't be buying any knives till at least the beginning of summer because I'd like my drivers license before then, and I gotta take a DATA (drug, alcohol, tobacco abuse course), which seems to start at like $40. Really stinks because I kept reading about new BK10s coming out (and whats this about a BK22?!).

My BK2 and BK16 have all but fallen to disuse because of carrying issues (I started to mod the sheaths and then either realized I didn't have all the things I needed, or my mods didn't hold together), so I'll be getting leather for the 2 and 16 (eventually, not now). And with leather comes micarta or wood scales (also later). I do have a knife y'all might like that I have yet to finish modding (this one is waiting on cash for a plane ticket to a knife spa), but no pics until I get it finished.

For those of you involved in Scouting, I have an idea that may interest you. Y'all know how the BSA "uniforms" are far from uniform? I plan on making a "Camp Class A" out of a Propper 2 pocket shirt and Propper BDU pants. The idea is to put velcro patches where regular patches would go (Rank, Position, JTE/Quality Unit, etc), and back each corresponding patch with the opposite side of the velcro (soft side would be on the shirt, rough side on the patch), and obviously wear the OD green BDU pants with the shirt. And for those that think BDUs are too heavy, what about a version of the same thing from Colombia, with either pants/shorts, or (the dreaded) swtichbacks.

The way I figure it, the Propper set would only cost a little more than the current BSA uniform (figure $40 for shirt and the same price for pants, and $2 per patch at national stores to have them sewn on), and in the end, would actually be uniform. No more of this 18 shades of green and 39 shades of tan. And before you ask about the BSA strip above the left pocket, it's very simple; a name tape that says "Boy Scouts of America" (that also relieves some of the peeling of that strip on current shirts). "What about the shape of the pockets and the buttons being covered?!" you say. Is that really a big deal?

After camp I'll up in Georgia on the AT. Relatively short hike, gonna be there for about 2 weeks. Still looking at backpacks (I plan on doing some more practice hikes on the weekends between camp weeks). Also gonna get started actually working out daily. Push-ups, sit-ups, runs, and (eventually) pull-ups (what can I say, my fat ass is to lazy to do them right now).

Anyhow, that's what's been going on since I dropped off the face of BF last time. I'll try to be on here more often, but odds are I'll drop off again, seeing as camps coming up again, and every weekend from May to August is full.

P.S. Reminder to those who just skim my walls of text, all BHs /members in good standing with BK&T sub-forum have an open invitation to my Eagle Court of Honor as soon as I know when and where it will be.

buddy of mine is a scoutmaster -- he found Magellan Outdoors brand quick-dry nylon convertable pants for roughly 1/2 the price of a nearly identical pant in the BSA store. The Moss Green was pretty close to OD - but i don't know if they have any shirts in the same color.
congrats on getting your eagle done -- good luck with the ceremony.

Welcome back oXide and congratulations. My son just had his Eagle Court and also welcomes you to the ranks of Eagle Scouts.
