First time I ahve laid eyes on the Franklin 238 stamp Charlie. There can't be too many of those around!Franklin 238 - from before 1939, made by Schrade for the Tracey-Wells Company!! It was a wholesale notions, grocers' and druggists' sundries company, from Columbus, Ohio!!View attachment 3134364
Pre-peachseed bone, obviously!!

First time for me too, Duncan!!! I wonder what 238 means??First time I have laid eyes on the Franklin 238 stamp Charlie. There can't be too many of those around!
Nice group of 33s, John!!!Campbellclanman
Jack Black Duncan, if you upload them to the Bladeforums server, Jack should be able to see them. That bypasses the Imgur UK embargo. I started using BF recently when my hosting service was flakey a couple times.
I'm a fan of GEC 33s, especially the SS acorns. Pic hosted on BF ("insert image", click "Drop", select file)

Thank you sir. My dad was a conductor on the Rock Island which explains my affinity for them ... only to find out they are a wonderful little knife. While digging through old pics for this thread found this beautiful lobster made by Joel Chamblin and owned by Charles Lamb when I snapped these pics.Nice group of 33s, John!!!

I'll bite. What is the thin little blade some of these have?Thank you sir. Interesting! I was debating between nail grooming and pipe tool myself, I had not picked up this was what was being called a lobster. I will admit I was a little confused reading the threadThey have file teeth so suppose one could use them as a fingernail file. Name implies the pick maybe to eat seafood. To die for!!!JW225 your MOP Esquire is stunning, much nicer than mine. Am a fan of the GEC 09, the stamped / coined edges improve grip and look great too.
