Well, the USPS really let me down a few days ago. It seems that the mail carrier placed the key to a parcel locker containing my new
Tighe Tac in someone else's mailbox. Boy, was I steamed!
Not only did I lose the knife, I fear that my wife & I could be missing some credit card statements.
The one good thing that did arise from all this that I found a truly great knife dealer.
George of gbknives@usa.net had shipped the knife to me insured and with a delivery confirmation number. By tracking the package using the USPS website, I was able to find out that the parcel that I never got had already been delivered...to someone else!
After a discussion with a postal supervisor I contacted George requesting that he begin processing the insurance claim. He did even better! George immediately gave me a refund because he was told a claim could take months to settle. The one thing I did have to do is send him a signed & dated letter stating what I believed had happened to my mail. This letter is to be submitted with the claim.
George, I can't thank you enough for your help. If you need any help regarding our situation...Just let me know.
To those who use the USPS to SELL or TRADE knives, SEND THEM INSURED WITH DELIVERY CONFIRMATION!!! Doing this costs a bit more but it can save you tons of headaches if an item should become "lost".
To the person who got my mail,
WHAT COMES AROUND GOES AROUND!! One day, You'll end up losing a package that you were looking forward to getting. When this happens and you start feeling a little queasey thinking about losing your hard-earned cash...REMEMBER ME AND CONSIDER IT PAYBACK IN FULL!!!
