George Herron Knives Photo Site

Two Geno Denning folders (Pretty darn rare and made in Mr. Herron's shop) and a Herron Prototype that is drop dead gorgeous. It is hard to tell in the pictures, but the knife is just over 10" long and has great wooly mammoth scales.

It's been a while since I posted anything, but I have finally added some new stuff to the site. There is an old Aiken folder (Engraved, but I don't know by who), an Aiken boot knife, an Aiken stag skinner, a news article from the NY Times, a couple of Bigby skinners and a Denning skinner. If you follow the link below they will be the first items on the page.

Please let me know what you think.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has gone in to check the Herron site. It now has over 5000 visitors since it was put together.
The site has really started to come together and I think it is becoming a great library of information on Mr. Herron and his knives. I will continue to post everything that I can get my hands on, so if you have anything you'd like to share, please let me know and I will gladly get it on there.

Thanks again and if you haven't gone in and browsed around, please check it out.

I wasn't aware of this [Herron knives on flicker] site till today. Wonderful information and pictures. Jay, many thanks for the effort you put into this, I enjoyed it very much.

Thanks Mark. I appreciate the feedback.

Well, it's been a while since my last update, but I have added a few new items during the last months. A chute knife, folder, a really nice fighter set owned by Michael Star, the artcile where Mr. Herron got inducted into the Blade Cutlery Hall of Fame and a few skinners as well.
Please take a look when you get a chance. The newer items are the first pictures shown if you follow this link:

If you'd like to see more you can click on the smaller pictures to the side to go straight to that "grouping" of knifes and/or info.

Thanks and take care,
Jay

His fillet knives are one of my favorite models. It was one of the first that we ever got from Mr. Herron and it has been used plenty. Works like a charm!!

Well, it's been well over a year since I posted any updates (or anything else for that matter), so I figure it's about time. I have added several new knives including a couple of great Herron folders, a Herron bowie, a pair of chute knives, some skinners, a Steve Johnson Wilderness Knife (I know, but I had to post it) as well as two filet knife sets that Geno Denning did for my two boys.
Feel free to take a look:

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and I wish you all a Happy New Year.

Am interested to know if you are still at bladeforum. I have a Herron knife that is from early 70s and would like to talk to you about it. Thanks. Gordon

I am new to the forum and am trying to locate FLyprfly, or someone knowledgeable about 70s Herron knives. Thanks, Gordon

Thanks John.
I haven't done a lot with it in the last couple of years, but hoped people were still finding it helpful or at least enjoying the pics. Good to know some are.

Happy New Year!

Jay a happy new year to you as well.

I also enjoy your site very much. Your amazing collection of pictures is a big inspiration to my small Herron collection.

Thanks for sharing with the rest of the planet.:)

All the best

Steven

I'll chime in to say that your website always inspires, and you picked a fantastic maker to showcase....two makers that I have in my collection were directly taught by George: Geno Denning and William"Gordon" Defreest.

Happy New Year!

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Thank guys. I appreciate the feedback.
It inspired me to go back and play with the site some today and I opened up a whole bunch of pictures that had been blocked. Nothing really new, but some stuff you may not have seen in a while.

Thanks again,
Jay

This reincarnated thread needs some new photos. I'll start! :D
