Gerber warranty????

Nice report. I haven't had to use Gerber warranty service but good to know that not only did they send you a new one, they separately returned you your old one. Very nice.
They will return it. They ask if it has sentimental value. They did put a big X on it so you can't re-warranty it. LoL!

Great customer service. I will buy Gerber again because of the way I was treated.

My friend use to work for Fiskars/Gerber. He said that they take great pride in their warranty service. He also mentioned that he got a peak at their r&d and said they had all kinds of damascus and other cool stuff. Not sure why we don't see premium products from them any more.

As for your particular multi tool, and in regards to the "sentimental" comment, he stated that the thing that blew him away was just how serious and prideful they were about old, and military knives in particular. He said that they've received knives in throw away condition, but they would do just about anything to get them perfect. This was the rule, not the exception.

The only Gerber that I can remember owning (probably owned a few) was a knife that I inherited from my father. That knife I gave to a friend at work. He shows it off to anyone that'll pay attention. :D I sharpen it for him regularly. Makes me happy to know all of this about a great American company. I just wish that they'd put out some knives that I really want. I'm pretty sure that I'd feel great about owning one. ;)

The CS rep asked if my tool was military issue. I told him the truth- It was given to us (tank crewmen) as we deployed to the Persian Gulf. They handed you a Letherman or a Gerber snub nose.
