There are a few different knife users in the community so this won't apply to the type that simply collect and like knives in general.

But to those of us that use our knives in the great outdoors, ie, fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, you name it a knife can and SHOULD be used outdoors and indoors..

BUT>>>>>>

When was the last time you actually went out and made a point to dirty that pretty little knife you've been playing with by your computer??

I make it a point to use every knife I get now, yeah I still have a couple shelf queens which I intend to get rid of. As they'll lose dramatic value if I use them.. go from $500 to half that..

When I get my knew HI AKB I'll make a point to show its wear the first day.. and post pics..

How bout you??? Get out and use them things........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT:

Great Idea, I've been online way too much and I have some badass bush knives ... all shiny and stuff,

....WILL DO.

Why don't you get off the internet and let people enjoy their hobby however they wish to?;)

Best,

Heekma

So,

Any suggestions on how to use ABS test daggers?

I agree on using fine knives, but it is OK to collect them too. I like slipjoints and daggers, the slipjoints get used, but in this modern day finding people to dag is a huge challenge. :D.

I and many others consider daggers and slipjoints the most difficult knives to make. There is nothing wrong with collecting and using any way you wish. If there was not a market for finely made knives few would be seen because of the years it takes to "master the art" and the skill that it takes to bring the work to fruition.

People can enjoy knives in different ways...if they like collecting them, nothing wrong with that.

I like to baby my blades...most of my collection is "the second kind of cool" And it has given me a lot of satisfaction. Hopefully I will pass them on to my children and give them....well cash or whatever they deside. Perhaps a mint Spyderco Barong will be a small goldmine in 20 years :) or not...

Folders are cool.

I'm on the internet, out in the field, and I used my knife just moments ago, so there.

Bastid those daggers are simply amazing.

I just got back from a little more than two months of training with the army reserves (great way to knock off some of my student debt) where I carried my (then) brand new Manix 2 every single day and used it for everything from cutting oranges to hacking away at branches, making arc markers and even prying out firing pin retaining pins or knocking gas plugs loose. I didn't take it apart, oil it, or baby it in any way. Hell, I didn't even sharpen it for two months.

I try not to let my knives sit around, unused. If I'm not using a particular knife, it's usually not because I'm afraid to use it, it's because I don't like it enough to give it 'pocket time'.

I just spent the whole weekend using the hell outta my manix 2 and Fallkniven A2. I love getting my knives dirty :D

You know you're a knife nut when...
You're out in the field using your knife and reading BF at the same time :)

I periodically MUST kill time out in the field. BF provides a constructive means to do so. :P

And you made this suggestion....on the internet.

It's like those TV commercials that tell you to stop watching TV and go outside. ;)
