Get OFF the internet and use your knives!!!

Bastid....I admire your "users" collection as to some those would certainly be "safe queens".

Most of my knives get used. I am on the computer a good amount during the day so I cant exactly use my knife whilst I am on here. When I go home....I play.

Saturday was remulch the flower bed day so my brand new Izula got a real work out cutting open those thick plastic bags of mulch so they could be dumped out :). Had my backup Spydie just in case of some catastrophic failure.

After 18 bags it was time to come in, touch up the blade back to hair shaving sharp then sat down for some more internet surfing about knives.

Monday used folding Buck Mayo TNT and Leatherman Charge off and on all day while fishing in the Marsh, will be using em again over the weekend as early Teal Season opens Sat morning and will be back in the marsh both Sat and Sun morning give em hell.

Sadly, I get very little "outdoorsy" time but I do take some knives along and use them when I get a chance. Other than that, it's just plain everyday use at home and such. I try to make my purchases with use in mind but as you can guess, some knives I want just because they are "fun and cool".

Apparently some people don't like to read the hole post before they get pissy.

quote"THERE ARE A FEW DIFFERENT KNIFE USERS IN THE COMMUNITY SO THIS WON'T APPLY TO THE TYPE THAT SIMPLY COLLECT AND LIKE KNIVES IN GENERAL" end quote

If people don't have anything positive to ad...y do they bother to post at all. I think it's a good idea to get offline every now and again and actually use them for there intended purpose. Unless of course they are only for collecting, like the op stated. SO HE WASN'T TALKING TO YOU.

qucik kill, you should definitely think about following the OP's advice and get off the internet. You don't have to use your knives or go get some fresh air or anything, just log out and please refrain from logging back in, alrighty? :p

Next task: rebuilding a bathroom. Weapon(s) of choice: Manix 2 and Alox Pioneer.

... but it's about my bedtime and I"m TIRED. Used my Ka-Bar Dozier folding hunter to cut up some inner tubes for ranger bands and just cut some paracord off a car-top carrier. Can I be cool? :D

this weekend, had alot of fun on the Lower Gorge of the Salmon processing driftwood and locust trees for four firepans every night. That six dollar Tram is now officially the best bang for the buck I've ever got from a blade. I took my arkansas softstone with me and every night made three passes on each side that took it back to razor sharp.

I cut the heat shrink wrap off a tub of Costco biscotti yesterday. Didn't even break the pointy tip with the fearless abuse. Maybe next time I'll take it out in the back yard for the ambience. ;)

I don't generally collect shelf queens... I buy knives with the intention of using them. To each their own though, because a lot of those fancy knives look very cool, and I certainly wouldn't hate it if I happened to find myself owning one!

I get to use my knives in the restaurant everyday, and I'm not just talking about chef knives. I used my Izula today to cut some waffle pattern light covers for the ceiling lights, then cut all the box tops off in the walk-in, and lastly, I cut a small piece of piping to fix a leak behind our saute cooler. I'm relaxing tonight, but I'm looking forward to taking my Fehrman and my Izula into the woods this weekend to show some fallen limbs who the boss is!

I've trimmed some cuticles and opened a package or two with my new Benchmade Mini-Grip. Does that count?

I've used knives more than you, and have more safe queens than you as well:p

Its all good:thumbup:

Heck, it's not always for lack of trying! ;) I don't go anywhere without at least one knife on me, but I don't really seem to need to use my EDC blades everyday. Also, now I'm living in a city so I can't exactly go out front and baton some firewood with my Recon Scout. Oh well... I don't mind being a collector! :D

I use my EDC on daily basis, but whenever I sharpen it it looks polished and new.. :/

How 'bout this...

For the past 14 days, I have not seen (much less touched) a computer. I've been out in the desert outside Reno, NV (Black Rock Desert, to be exact.....) living in a tent amid the dust and... dust. There is ZERO vegetation there, which really took me out of my comfort zone at first, but there were plenty of camp chores to take care of anyway - from food prep, to shelter and utility construction (potable water & wastewater evaporation systems, generator maintenance, sound system setup and maintenance, lighting & electrical...). We had a huge camp, of around 40 people, and built a major-mondo-enormous community shade structure, a kitchen shelter, a bunch of smaller shade structures for the sleeping tents, and had music & fires & propane-fueled sculptures raging all night long, every night. Hell of a camping trip.... ;)

So.... did anyone else on here go to BURNING MAN??? :D

I brought with me an FHM balisong, a Case Shark Tooth, a 9" Falcon stiletto, a GEC Tidioute toothpick, a Ka-Bar USMC, and of course my Emerson 13 (this one got the most use).

Does that qualify as getting off the internet and using my knives?
