  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Get together at the CPK compound on November 12th, the day after the cutting competition.

Speaking of 9/11...I know I've mentioned it before, or believe I have...but that morning...the first one I heard from was a Detective Inspector from "the Met" who wrote "we're with you"...and that was all he needed to say.

I can't tell you what it meant...then...and still today.

No historical swords even close to that hardness, would survive that (also posted before about seeing an idiot with more money than brains/skill, permanently bend their 5-figure genuine Nihonto on a poorly angled cut in tameshigiri).
Knife or Death had a similar example of this (not a 5 figure blade). One of the contestants had a hand forged katana made in China and his blade suffered a really nasty bend during one of the cuts.

I get the mystique around hand forged blades using traditional methods, but as something that could be used a weapon today? No thanks.

I'm glad I'm not Mat's type. LOL

Believe me when I say that I am not even my own type any more 🤣 It's just fun to goof around in here but as I hold older fit guys in higher regards, I will grade on a curve and give us 60+ older dashing debonaire lads (including Gus and his 6 pack) a 5 step jump start on those young bucks?

I remember that. Wearing traditional hakama, even.

First clue, when Travis checks the sword and it rattles when he shakes it (the sword itself, not in the saya/sheath/scabbard), my immediate thought was, "Oh, good grief. It's one of those shitty Chinese knockoffs. This idiot would've been better off with one of the Hanwei $200 Practical Katana series swords".

Then watching his sword form = 😬
Then seeing his bent sword = 🤣🤣🤣

P.S.
I was actually surprised at the Cold Steel bashers taking permanent bends, too. I know the Grosse Messer was one. I think there might've been others. Thought those were made springy, specifically for basher type enthusiasts who they assumed would be chopping at tree limbs, 2x4s, water jugs and pool noodles, with 1.5 out of 10 skills.

Sheesh!... All I can say is that when I look at my photos online 😲 ... I now somehow seem to look a alot like my grandfather! I've become older, fatter, bald and before too long I'll be retired. I really do need to get on an exercise/weight training regime and lose about ~25/30 lbs. I'm sure it will greatly help me when I attempt my next cutting comp! 😅

I feel you bro

Just today I opened my camera app on my phone and it was set to selfie mode from over the weekend and I caught a glimpse of myself when I wasn't ready for it. It's harsh man. It doesn't get easier

My wife made a video from the deck of me walking Kobe in the woods. I was about to ask "who's that?" when the penny dropped.

I'm just gonna keep on pretending to be 40 year old Blues.

The Cold Steel Pork Sword is +5 versus Porcine opponents only.

Meh I've always been fluffy......

But I carry it well hahahahaha

OK, I didn't wanna open my BIG mouth and say anything but now that you have started me off, I can not stop! LOLz...

Based on all the photos which I've seen posted from the event, the clear supermodel material among the bevy of the beauties I had the pleasure of seeing their actual faces is BEAU (DrBC)! I mean, there is not even a close 2nd, LOL... He is young, fit and in shape; clearly a rose among the thorns :p 🤣

Now for some other purely biased opinion, Eric (FinestFoneDorkDirk) shows potential specially when donning Kevlar dresses and I have to hand it to Jo, she married a handsome guy who seem to be aging like fine wine if he takes care of himself. The rest of youse better have very fat bank accounts 🤣

Oh lastly Mike, my bestie: the best looking monk ever in that attire complemented with the Kevlar! I can take him to Tibet and he will easily supplant the Dalai Lama or any other lama or even alpacas for that matter! He's just so pure, so angelic looking 😁

I dunno Roland, his prowess could be because of his beautiful mane! Oops, Jo also just chipped in, haha!

Speaking of our clean-cut younger fellas, I totally forgot about NonNisiTe (Steven?). Very pleasant younger CPK'er :)

I don’t know how to feel here. On the one hand, I think if I were BC or NNT I’d be a little nervous if you showed up next year and set your tent up by mine.

On the other hand, I know you’ve seen pictures of me on this forum. Yet no comments on my hotness!?!? I mean, I wasn’t fishing for compliments when I posted the pics, but you don’t see that level of masculine sexy everyday. Come to think of it the only person that has ever spoke of my beauty around here is Grenock Grenock .
Better. Half a man card reinstated on account that I haven't seen that much ugly piled up in one spot in a while.

And don’t bother now. I would question your sincerity.

No need to fear me or my proximity my friend. I may have a critical eye for beauty but my bread is only buttered on one side which has been the right side for me as long as I've known myself. Comments regarding your masculinity and "hotness" are moot, because as the saying goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words". IIRC, along time ago you had said in a post (I'm paraphrasing) that when you show up on certain jobs, you are mindful of pulling out a knife because you thought of yourself as rough (or did you say scary?) looking! Honest opinion? You wouldn't scare me ;)

OK enough of me mocking around and mucking about, I have a serious Q regarding the Moorseville weekend event:

In one of the photos with KingCoCk's display tables and spread, I noticed a stack of typed contractual looking printed papers. Were those Jo's waivers to sign for the outlaw cut or some form of NDAs?

Maybe he needs to post the "Uranus" image again...then you might reconsider...

I think that was in reference to me meeting up with another member to pick up a FK1 I purchased.
I think it was LukeTheSpook.
But it was after work and it was me looking a little rough and driving a beat up box truck.
I just didn’t want him getting nervous and thinking that he might be abducted. So I gave him fair warning so he didn’t drive away scared with my FK1 in his ride.
