  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

gettin' a WSKTS for Christmas

I got mine from woodcraft a few days ago. Put very nice edges on everything I ran it through. Belt moves rather slowly, so there's hardly any heat buildup. Does well with scissors.

I love this thing because it's become much more than a sharpener to me. It's a baby belt grinder, and it's such a fun little toy for me. Gives me a break from my big grinders. Tonight, I did some shaping up on the edges of a kydex sheath, and it did a beautiful job. I'm going to take one of the worn 6000 grit belts and load it with some Flitz, green chrome or white matchless. I bet that would make for some awesome power stropping.

I hardly use the guides anymore. I was thinking about making a tiny little platen for it....lol. I can use the platen on the right side, and the opposite side can still be slack since it runs away from the edge.

At this point, It's not a sharpener to me. It's a very versatile little tool for knifemaking. I can employ this thing in thousands of ways. Time to make a platen!

Tried my hand at sharpening a Martindale Golok. Must've put too much pressure on the back end.

I just got mine today. sharpened a butter knife: check. sharpened kitchen knives: check. completely bald arm: check. blunted the tips on some knives: check. accidentally put a wave in a blade: check. works good. hopefully with patience and practice I can get stuff scary sharp because right now it's only slightly better than what I was getting before with cheapo pocket sharpeners.
