Sounds like riding is really for you. I'm more of a runner myself but I understand its not for everyone with the joint beating it can give. I find trail running is easier on the joints because the surface is softer and each impact varies unlike road running. I also lift to supplement my running.
I got in to mountain biking for a little while but trashed my Trek. It was old and not the greatest. I need to get something better because I really enjoyed it. There are a lot of good mountain bike trails around me too (well multi-use). I use them for running currently. I have road bike I need to get running too. However, my wife and I are leaving the country for about a year soon so no point just yet.
