lol just wanted to say how funny it was to walk through the bag check at disneyland and I guess it was kinda my fault for having it clipped in my pants the lady comes up to me amd tells me I have to go back to my car to put it away lol I say ok I walk towards my gf and another guy comes up to me asking me if I have a knife I say yes he asks me to leave the park and take it to my car but the funny thing is my gf had a benchmade benchmite on her keyring in her purse but they don't even bother to tell her she can't bring it in ahhh the bag checkers make me laugh just thought I'd share my 1 hour experience with you all

That stinks, I've done that on several occasions to watch baseball games...oh well rules are rules.

I had the same thing happen with a Spyderco Orange Urban Wharnie. I had to go back to my room and leave it. I asked a different bag check person what they check for when I got back and all they said was alcohol and glass for the most part. If they are going to enforce this then they should put up signage. It sucks. I carried the Urban deep in my poket unclipped for the days after that with no issue. Just be careful using it in the park for packaging or whatever. BTW, the male guard approached me from over 50 feet away and spotted my clip from afar so they are certainly trained to look for knife clips.

Same thing happened two years ago when I was going in to the arch in St. Louis. Had my Kershaw Blur in my pocket when I saw the sign that said "no spring assisted knives". Who knew? Ranger asked to see it, said, "nope, take it off the property" so I had to walk all the way back to the parking garage and put it in the car. If it had been a straight folder, with an even longer blade I could have kept it. Where's the logic there?

this is starting to get bad...
went to the knife show a while ago, and i got talked to for carrying a knife. at a knife show.

Yeah, it's pointess (no pun intended), but I figure on getting hassled at any public venue (theme park, concert, etc.) so I either leave it in the car or carry unclipped inside my pocket. Just one of the reasons I don't frequent places like that much.

Recently they've started wanding everyone who goes up the arch. You aren't supposed to go in there with anything sharp. It feels like an airport!

They must think the Arch is more special than most of us do :)

Its like that where I work also. You even step foot on coal mine property with a knife of any kind your history! BTW I'm not a coal miner I'm a security guard at a coal mine.

thats poor wording of the sign, kershaw's ao are perfectly legal, what the sign refers to is a switch blade, just its not said as such. Political BS!

Kershaw's AO are non-switchblades, but they are "spring assisted" and the locals are perfectly within their rights to make their rules more restrictive than national or even state laws. Stupid and *&%$#ed up as it may be. :thumbdn:

I like to at least carry my Leatherman into a ball game. I prep the wife that I may need to go back to the car but I am gonna try to get in. I am kinda set in my ways. I brought a small slipjoint into the unhappiest place on earth. I was able to assist 2 people who were buying souveniers for their kiddies and they could not remove the zip tie that held the 2 parts of the toys together. I got to play hero for them. However, I kept a watchful eye for ears with badges. I try to remain conspicuous and not be a jerk wad knife guy. Otherwise, some sheeple will associate jerkwad=knife guy. We have a mission folks. Tend to the sheep, all you knife wielding good shepherds.

I always put my knife inside my pocket unclipped when I go through Disneyland or Disneyworld security for that very reason.
