Getting Divorced what knife to buy to celebrate

Well, TightWad:
Notwithstanding my previous post, full of (perhaps bad) humor, i DO agree with you: divorce is not really a celebration, in itself: but since i personally do NOT know the specifics of Roy's case, & he was asking, i just figured he was past whatever mourning stages he might've gone thru, & was looking for some "pick me up" type of encouragement from his "buds" here at the ol' OK Corral: i mean, forums. So minds wandering where they will, it seemed like a "get tough" kinda knife is just what he needs, if in fact his marriage is not salvageable: since he brought it to the forums with the specifics he did (& didn't) it wasn't my right to pry into the man's business: perhaps some of us DO take it too lightly, but, that's why he posted: to bring an otherwise Heavy event in life a little Lighter outlook. I don't know that anyone was personally 'dissing' on marriage, per se; but just what might cheer up a knife-bro~ in an otherwise emotional & "down" time; to look on the bright side after all the misery that probably went on, but doesn't need to be discussed, here.

RavenQ8 - You might try the "for sale" forums here for a good deal; they come up periodically; ebay, too. The E is the only one available now, not the "original" (they've gone thru a few revisions, actually: the final product, with INFI Steel, & the dropped handle, for more "Power-Transmission" from arm to target, is indeed the BEST for usage: others are able, but generally collector-pieces now, for the next few centuries of descendants, since they'll last =nearly= forever.)
If you BUY the Battle Mistress, even for $347, you STILL will NOT be DISAPPOINTED! It will live up to well BEYOND its meager price; Hindsight, remember, is clearer than looking ahead; you'll only miss the money for a short time, & wonder how you lived without it...
Then again, as Mel said: "Every man dies, but NOT every man really lives!" Ha, Ha! Live: get a Busse!
:D

Thanks Climber. I've already decided that when the Rams win tonight (the game doesn't come on until midnight here) I will treat myself. Then I'll have to think of something special when they win the Superbowl!

RavenQ8 - If ya get one, let me know how ya like it!
Beat it, chop with it, pry with it, dig with it; it can take it all.
(i haven't followed the pro games this year: i was stunned when these Huskers here in Nebraska who had done SO well all season, looked so bad, these last two games, including the big Rosy-Bowl... Ugh!)

Enjoy!

I think the obvious knife to buy following a divorce is a trapper. Use that spey blade on yourself and you'll never have to worry about women problems again!:D

Himalayan Imports Ang Khola 18" khukuri. Wear this around and you dont have to worry about being married again :D

Well.. Divorce is a horrible event in someones life... And I applaud everyone trying to make him feel better with humor... (I hope you all do that for me when the Axe finally falls for me.. Been waiting a year) And All I can say is buy yourself the most expensive pretty Functional knife you can... and try to have fun! LOL funny thing to tell you.. my soon to be ex wife was brave enough to buy me a fantasy bowie knife for Xmas.. I mean.. what was she thinking? Brave? Stupid? Awww who cares.. she is still breathing and I have a pretty toy... O well.... lol... (should have seen the looks on my co workers faces when I showed them what she gave me...LOL they were stunned she is still alive..considering her idiocy! )

I'd go for a nice set of throwing knives... a 8X10 photo of the new "X" and a hunk of pine about twice that big...
Set up near the phone so you can talk to your lawyer and take out frustrations at the same time.

Just a thought...:D

Jamgusmc - Hey, guy, we will try to do the same for you if it comes to that, but it sure sounds a WHOLE LOT like she's still trying to please you, if she bought you a fantasy knife for Christmas! There's still something "VERY THERE" in her FOR YOU; else she wouldn't get you anything! i'd be workin' on that one 'to work out,' with that much favor in her eyes, & since advice is free around here... that's mine! ;)
Have a great day, all...!:D

Divorce is tough. Infidelity is TOUGHER. I wish you the best, and I certainly understand the importance of Humor to get through Pain. I do it often. buy whatever makes you the happiest, even if but for a moment. Be it a Benchmade or a Scagel, if you feel good doing it, DO IT.

Hopefully, time will heal the wounds. Sometimes it does, sometimes it's only time. Do what I do; I run my credit cards up to the max and then laught at the fact that it will take me 93 years to be at zero, making the MINIMUM Monthly payment.

never loose your sense of Humor, and like I said, Good-Luck;) ;) ;)

:(
My heart goes out to you, my friend !
Been there, done that; but it ain't easy, & you never forget...
Never give up hope...
Percival to Lancelot, when he (L) left the battle, without hope: "i can't give up Hope, Lancelot! It's all i have..."
Hey, what's your name, & hers, so i can pray for you more effectively?

in your corner,
Clif, Climber, Locksmith, Pastor...

Hey Wolfmann! Hope all is well with you; you should get "the package" from me this week ;)

"Faith, Hope, Love, these three abideth forever..."
The pain is momentary...
If you can love Jennifer thru this, you can love her thru anything.
i'll pray that she sees that, and turns from her waywardness to truer love than what an affair can provide: MAy the Lord be with you for strength & courage beyond yourself, my friend, for YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! Don't forget that...

:)
