  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Getting nice clean edges with stock removal

I like the idea of the two blocks, going to try it! I dull the two outside edges of my belt and make my plunge cuts very gently and then grind the length of the blade.I DO NOT make a hog plunge cut like a few do.Scary for me.Making clean lines with a 1" belt would be hard for me, maybe too many "grind trips" the length of the blade. And I have left the contact wheel as is from the factory. Some guys are skilled enough maybe to use a sharp shouldered belt, but I'm kinda nervous about having it grab.I usually have some touch up filing to do where the plunge cut starts, and I use a round shoulder. Gentle Dremel use for this does work very well, I agree.
