It was warm enough today to try using my paint stripper on the BWM. So, Third World Grindshop, in all its trailer trash glory, was busy today.

Even though it was over 60F, the paint was hard to remove. I actually had to just sand it off in places on the blade. Even my Scotchbrite wheels had touble removing it. The "dent" I could see even with the paint on shows up here.

Eventually, I was able to get most all of the coating off. To do a true satin finish, I'd end up with a 1/8" thick Bushwacker. Man, that would be fast in the hand. But today, I settled on a ghetto satin competition finish. To heck with a few dimples and imperfections!

A little mineral oil on the scales, and here she is. Ready to whack things!

Maybe one day I'll take her on down for a smoother finish.

Looks good to me! I like the dimples...gives it character.

Do I remember you saying you like this blade so much you're getting another one HD??

Yes, a green and tan one. It will be my only painted Busse. :D

mmmmm, yes, the way INFI should be, nekkid! Fantastic work Horndog! :)

Excellent work Horn Dog! I am very impressed with the edge and stripping you put into the blade. Way to go.

Thanks, guys. I went back and sanded the spine and tang some. Now she fits in with my other Busses. I forgot to include my HG55LE.

All these Busses will cut well. :D

Wow, HD. That is great work, as always. There is nothing ghetto about that! I wish that I had half your skill.

Thank you again for the great pictures.

I'm probably in the minority, but I like the "Competition finish".

I lusted after a few models on the X.

Mainly because they are pretty and shiny, nor do they have a perfect paint job, they just scream "user". Like a junkyard mutt (speaking of dogs, not the Bussekin knives) versus a show dog.
