GiantMouse GM2

Agreed. What are some other knives with CF scales and no liners? Not that that makes any sense anyway, my Gayle Bradley is CF with liners it's not like the edge of the CF isn't visible, it just doesn't splinter because it's finished better.

That almost looks like the knife you sent back. All I can say is...try again? Mine is perfect and has become one of my favorite EFC blades.

I guess I could see if he'll send me one more, like I said I'm still worried about how it'll hold up down the road now if it's this brittle.

Here's mine. Smooth as can be...if that helps you decide to try again.

Curious; do you remember the serial of your first one? I wonder if the serial of your two knives are close?

Yep, first one was 187. This one is 231.

I just still don't know why whoever physically ships these things can't do a quick check for me. The CEO said he doesn't have them available to him directly except for a few he keeps back and was going to see if he had any he could send me directly but never told me if that's what he wound up doing.

Do you mean the Spyderco Gayle Bradley? That's mostly G10 with a layer of CF on top. Same with the Domino. The Rubicon is pure CF but it's over Ti liners. Either way, I don't accept his excuse that linerless = problems. If they cannot provide you with a smooth one then just take the refund and move on. That's what I'd do, at least.

I'm honestly thinking of taking the refund and putting it toward the Olamic 247. This thing looks amazing to me and actually has the fit and finish to back it up:

Sorry you got one with this annoying issue. Mine is perfect, thankfully.

Ok, so since I was going to send it back I decided to just snap that overhanging piece of CF off and now it's smooth and won't catch on anything. Thinking of just keeping it now, the rest is fine aside from a hairline fine scratch on the blade about a quarter inch long, nothing the nail even catches on. So much for my refund from this lessening the blow of my Olamic :)

YES. Keep it.

I can't help it. I just love the Mouse.

FWIW Just today I saw the new Vipers on IG and they are exactly the same scale materials like the GM2 pretty much confirming the previous assumptions of production origins. After examining these IMHO they are subpar to what I did expect so I have to pass still happy with my GMP1 though.

So, after examining the pics?
That's the conclusion you came to?

Nope meant what I said the photos confirmed the production origins as the scales are the same. I examined only the GM2 in person and didn't find it to be a keeper but like I said just IMHO (in my humble opinion).

Thanks for sharing, I hope you have a better experience with your next knife purchase or forum post 😉

Hows the action on this? Good as the zt 452?

The action is different from ZT's. Less of the "fall-shutty" kind of action and more of the "hydraulic smoothness" sort of thing. The blade on mine falls closed with a little gentle shake and snaps right out when flipped. But the detent isn't so firm that you can't open the knife with the thumb or middle finger.

Good to know, sounds like its more like what I though. Like a boker kwaiken than a frame lock flipper. How is it in pocket looks a littler wider but I really like the CF and blue colors.

Great in pocket. It's a little think, but the contouring of the scales makes for s great carry. The backspaces and lanyard hole is really well done, too.

It travels smaller than it looks. The bold clip point blade looks like it should belong on a big heavy knife and it's surprising how light and compact the GM2 is.

Earlier in this thread someone was claiming the GM2 was essentially an overpriced Viper. After using the CF Vox Fortis for a few days it's my opinion that the GM2 is clearly a premium knife over the Fortis. The Fortis is a nice knife but the GM2 is better in a lot of little ways.

You honestly can't feel it in the pocket. At least I can't. I haven't carried it since I got my Olamic, but I find myself still going to hold it and open/close it. It has a very satisfying "snick" sound when you close it. After something QC issues on mine I have grown to love it again.
