So, GiantMouse released new photos and a video of the new GM4s this morning (East Asia time, anyway). Smaller than the previous models, but IMO really nice looking. I still think the GM3 was one of my favorite knives out of 2017 and really like what is being produced. Looks to be another fine addition.

Here's the specs, per the company's IG post:

Blade Steel: Böhler M390 MICROCLEAN stainless steel. Satin finish.
Frame: Titanium GR5. Light stonewashed finish.
Backspacer, clip and pivot ring: Titanium anodized blue.
Pivot Mechanism: Ball bearings.
Locking Mechanism: Frame lock.

Blade Length: 2.5" (63.5mm) - measured from tip to forward-most aspect of frame
Blade Thickness: 0.157" (4mm)
Frame Length: 4" (101.6mm)
Overall Length: 6.625" (168.3mm)
Weight: 3.6oz (102.1g)

Wondering what the community is feeling about the upcoming model.

Oh, and for the "it's too expensive/feels like other Vox designs/etc complaints" folks, your opinion is duly noted, respected and has already been given, so no need, really. Also, I didn't want to post pics without permission, so y'all can just imagine them in your clever heads.

I love my GM3, and was looking forward to this release...but I've lost interest due to the specs. I carry a traditional, so my needs for a short blade are covered. (I struggle with the idea of a 3.25" inch blade on a modern folder, though a few that size have won me over)
Im sure I'll take a look at some point; but somebody else can have mine.

Kinda feels like other Vox designs and it's too expensive.

Nice clean lines would make for a nice knife for the people who like the ZT0900, reminds me a little of it in a positive way. Too small for my taste though.

I'm gonna have to agree, a bit small for me I think. However, if anyone would care to gift one to me, I'll send you a lovely thank you card.

I've liked my GM2 and GM3 but I think I might pass on this one. It seems a little unremarkable or something. Also, I'm starting to get burned out by smooth titanium slabs.

It looks like the rare variant is using bronze slabs with a blackwash blade?

I was hoping this one would have more of a sheepsfoot/wharncliffe blade to satisfy the many who wanted a better Pilar with upgraded materials. I love my GM1 but this is another miss for me. I so wish Vox had sold the Pilar design to Giant Mouse. :(

I like the design but wish it was larger, i'm sure i'll still pick one up to check it out.

A better Pilar with upgraded materials is pretty much the Olamic Busker.

Just got this info via email...

blade size is fine with me but the overall width of the thing is a bit unsettling

Undecided. Love size but agree it looks just like a Vox. If sheepsfoot would be a must buy. I think the 300 lot will be around awhile so plenty of time to mull over I believe. Not a day one buy for sure.

Hate stubby knives, and anything under 3" blade is useless to me. I really liked the GM3 but hated the nail nick. Seems their last two release have had dealbreakers for me.

Dang! A titanium framelock flipper! Never seen one of those before! That's gonna set the industry on its ear!!

:D

I suppose there would have to be some niche for a smaller, not-comedically overbuilt one of them...which this seems to be.

I'm not a fan of... Just another frame lock flipper that costs alot because they decided to make only 300 of each (or whatever it is).

Not a fan of vipers weak qc mainly detent issues.

Not a fan of them saying grade 5 ti and then finding out they use grade 5 ti for lock side and tc4 or a lower grade ti overall for the show side.

The blade profile is awesome, looks like a large taper for slicing. Looks like decent ergonomics. They didn't show if the blade drops or not from its own weight. But seems to flip fine. I'm getting numb from all the flippers in the market too. A hole in the blade to open in another way would be great addition to counter that.

Also they are often just re designed Viper models.

And because of that, they do not keep there value for long at all.
