I believe you've found the one I was looking for! Thanks!

I would suggest a Victorinox. Women love the sissors, nail files, etc.
I just bought one for my daughter.

The best deal IMO is a Spyderco Native4 Carbon Fiber. A couple of the on-line retailers have this one for under $100. Another good choice in a bigger knife would be a Kershaw G-10 Tyrade (about $80), choice of orange, black or tan handles and a cool composite blade.

Sorry, missed the part where you chose the Dragonfly Tattoo. That's a very pretty design on the handle, that should appeal to a landscape architect. Good job, Dad!

Excellent choice. I'm giving my daughter the Spyderco Harpie and a Victorinox SAK. I gave her 1st knife when she was 6. She still has it. We shoot together also.

Although you've decided, I think an Old School style knife would not go amiss..in the future(birthday?) Consider a CASE Mini Copperlock, it's a fine slim lockback that takes up no room in the pocket but offers a decent blade, looks nice too.

Thinking about buying an edc knife in the $50-100 range for my daughter for Christmas. (She's 23). What are your suggestions? Thought about a Spydie Dragonfly in SS.

I'm only 24 (male) myself, but this is great you are getting her a knife, hopefully that will be a EDC. We should all use this as an example to get our girlfriends, wife, niece's, sisters to have an knife at hand.

They have an advantage over us as they carry a bottomless purse, might as well have a nice folder in it.

My wife carries a SAK Tinker in her purse and is often the only one in a roomful of women with a knife when one is needed. She tells me these stories that are the female version of my own stories!:)

Having trouble finding the Dragonfly Tattoo. May have to resort to one of the other suggestions. Really like the Tattoo since it is "artsy" like her. Really appreciate all the input.

Have you considered the Dragonfly in G10? I just got one in October after having the FRN version for many years and it's a great knife. Not too big so as to draw attention, but very nicely made and the combination of G10, jimping and finger choil keeps it firmly planted in your hand. While SS knives look really nice, especially the Tattoo, I tend to stay away from them because they're usually too smooth which to me means compromised safety when using if your hands are wet.

im sure lots of you will bash me saying this but i got my girlfriend a spyderco S and she loves it. she fell in love with it when she saw a catalog with it on it. she loved the design on it. now this isnt a working knife so since thats the case i would suggest a Benchmade griptilian.

Some good suggestions here - I'm looking for my gf for Christmas. Need something thin and smallish that will fit in a ladies' jeans pocket (not a whole lot of room in there - tight jeans)

I can't seem to find a width measurement on the Dragonfly?
