This amazing Mozzetta has recently changed hands and I am completely thrilled with life today.

I can't wait to get home and really go over it, but had a few minutes to get some photos on my favorite moss covered log.

Phone camera does this no justice. It's excellent in every way!

I am at a loss for words to describe that knife. It is simply stunning, I love everything about it.
It is some of the finest rams horn that I've ever seen on a knife too 😍 Congratulations on scoring this piece.

Thanks Jack!

Christian, kamagong kamagong , have you tried tightening the pivot? I have done that to nearly all my Sardinian knives with great success. In time the material seems to stabilize, or at the least, acclimate to my conditions and settle into a nice 5 to 6 pull and hold.

Gigi encouraged me to peen the pins. Davide Steri preferred the squeeze the pins in a vice technique. Both will work; the vice with less shock to the system.

It doesn't take much

I just had to do this with two French knives. One horn and one oak. They both became floppy with the cold weather. You really just need to set it on an anvil and tap it a couple times, check, and repeat until snug. Use a weeeeeeee tiny ball peen or cross peen hammer. Or a small tack hammer if you don't have either of those. Don't bust out the Estwing framing hammer. 😁

The vice scares me. To easy to smash it. Lol.
