Girlfriend Knife

Hi Tentmaker -

I have purchased Vic classic's with the scissors for the women in my life, including several women at work.

Most all of these gals are purse carriers, but I find that most women don't want a larger knife, nor do they want a fixed blade (they think they have a steak knife in their purse....)

My wife and daughter both have the pink Susan Kommen version of the Vic - and they love them.

My wife, in particular, uses the scissors more than anything. She will pull the Vic out and set it on the coffee table next to her and use it to cut coupons etc.

That is about as close to enjoying my hobby as she has gotten, but she does get a little crazy when she occasionally mis-places her knife. (I have a backup for her in case she ever loses it....)

best regards -

My vote would be for the dragonfly, but I did give my baby sister a purple delica for her 18th birthday and she loves it.

Pink or purple Vic classic. My experience: girls don't really like knives and the Vic is a great way to get them to see how useful one can be.

I have bought several knives, flashlights, self-defense weapons, etc for my GF and she could care less.
As far as knives go...BM Mini-Grip (pink), Rough Rider Peanut (pink), and a Cold Steel OSS (long dbl edged "fighter" fixed blade) to keep in her SUV.
I figured if I got them in pink she would appreciate them a little more, but as far as I know she never uses them.

My wife lost her main carry Kershaw Leek, so just took mine to replace it. My mother in law of course freaks out whenever she sees me use a knife. Of course the fact she has big kitchen knives in just the other room that are far more dangerous doesn't cross her mind.

Some women make more sense than others.

Z-Zero beat me to it. I took my 30 yr. old daughter to the gun show and let her pick it out. It's pink and it rides in her bra. I think she's the type to use it if need be. Good Luck!

Nothing wrong with a good ol' SAK as a first blade. Gives you the blade itself, plus a few other helpful tools. If you want it as a self defense tool, go a little larger....something like a CRKT M16.

Spyderco LSSP3T Tattoo Ladybug, PlainEdge, around $52.00, good looking not scary and a functional knife.

I bought my wife a Spyderco Endura in pink. My thinking was that if she had her own, she wouldn't take mine out of the drawer and use it for God-knows-what (chipping tile grout, cutting tin downspouts, scraping paint are all things I have found her doing with mine...).

Alas. The Endura has never been out of the box.

Sister-in-law carries a Leek or Chive in her purse. I gave her both.

I got my girlfriend a Schrade Florist knife, she really likes it, carries it in her purse all the time, she was just on vacation with the fam, camping and hiking, they forgot a good kitchen knife, and low and behold, the knife i bought her became priceless.. she usually uses it for cutting wild flowers when we go on walks, but its small, sharp and a cool knife, i would recommend the Victorinox Florist knife though, because I would assume they would have a higher quailty..
