Girls & Knives - Courtesy of Brad Duncan

Wow! Those are. . . really. . . nice shots . . . good pics. . . so pretty. . . so young. . . so colorful. . . wait a minute!? You mean there are knives in there?!?!?

A couple of these shots are on his website, but a couple AIN'T. plus some of the ones on his site are a little distorted to be congruent with the other pics. These ones are all correct in proportion, as sent to me via email. Brad is a very cool guy, I've had nothing but positive dealings with him.

I don't like the way the first girl is holding the tip of that knife. Dangerous.
LOL, I thought that myself for a split second, actually. Something tells me she made it through the shoot unscathed though.

I'm sorry I gotta give a BIG thumbs down, I like some of his designs but if he has to resort to half dressed women to bring attention to his knives it's in very poor taste. I want to buy knives from a maker who is dedicated to the art, not someone thinking up gimmicks to sell knives.

I noticed one of the knife magazines doing the same thing in an advertisement for a kerambit. :thumbdn:

If you want to look at naked women there are magazines for that, when I pick up a knife magazine I want to see knives.

I'm with BG on this one, and I'm going to add one more thing:

EWWWWWWWWWW! Those chicks are SKAAAANNNKKKYYYY!
Those are the kind of chicks you see in porn...

with sores. :barf:

Welp, to each his own deep end.

I don't think Brad is "resorting" to using girls to sell his knives, I think he simply has an appreciation for form & function.

With that being said, form and function should be represented in his work, period, end of sentence.

Who among us has not seen a naked woman. Is he going to start bringing these women with him to knife shows? It's quite sad.

Think about some of the makers who have been around for decades, they are still knife makers because they love what they do and it shows in their work. If he had a real passion for his work, I might consider buying some, but this has opened my eyes to where I won't be spending my money.

This is just my opinion.

Who among us hasn't seen a knife? I guess that means we never want to see another one?

You're entitled to your view, but to imply that he doesn't have a passion for his work is way off. He's a full-time knifemaker, no other day job, & he's also kinda young (early 30's). He has a wild sense of style, has that whole biker dude/tatoo thing going - so I doubt he takes the girls & knives thing as seriously as you might think. He does, however, take the knifemaking very seriously. It's your choice of course whether or not you want to buy knives from him, heck, it might help drive the prices down to where I'd be able to afford more :D

The first four look like they might have some 'issues' (Lorena Bobbitt wannabes?) However, #5, the babe in the pink bikini, is more than welcome on the pages of any knife mag I buy ... or anywhere else in my presence, for that matter!

The one with the scar? How ironic. :D

Well, I for one am offended

Nah, I'm just playin with you.

Bring the ladies on.

Those are pretty tasteful pics, to be fair. But decent sized knives look really huge compared to females.

If we could get an asian school girl shot in here, that'd be great.

Work on it.
