Give-Away Criteria

I made a thread about digging up some knives here... http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=634717 and it's time to give them away. I'll be taking the photos tonight, but they won't be released until the specific knife has been won :p
Below I'll list everybody who posted in the thread, in order of their first post. These people are eligible for the give-away. After that, I'll list the terms of the give-away.

Now that that's cleared up, here's the deal. If you don't want to be in the give-away, then just don't post a reply. The other thread will still be open to discuss the knives and such. This is just for the give-away.

If you win, please provide me with a shipping address. I'll ship for free to the United States, but I ask that any non-US winners pay for shipping to their country. The reason for this is because I'm giving away thirteen knives and with just US shipping, it's going to cost me around $90 (at least).

Please understand that if you win a knife, shipping will not happen until all of the knives have been won. One knife will be given away per day, so the knives won't ship at all for two weeks (it has to be this way because that's when I get paid next). I'm sending out $355 in knives and at least $90 in shipping, so please be patient.

The knives will be given away in the order they're listed in the other thread...
1. Frosts' Craftsman in carbon steel. Plastic sheath.
2. Frosts' Craftsman in stainless steel. Plastic sheath.
3. Buck 110. Nylon sheath.
4. Frosts' S-1 in laminated steel. Plastic sheath.
5. Opinel No. 9 in carbon steel. No sheath.
6. Spyderco Endura in VG-10. No sheath.
7. Kershaw Leek in 440A. No sheath.
8. Spyderco Dragonfly in AUS-8. No sheath.
9. Kabar standard issue in carbon steel. Leather sheath.
10. Victorinox Camper in stainless steel. No sheath.
11. Case Sodbuster Jr. in carbon steel. No sheath.
12. Buck 110. Leather sheath.
13. Case Sodbuster Jr. in carbon steel. No sheath.

You can enter for as many knives as you want, but please don't enter if you've already won a knife in this give-away.

As mentioned before, photos of the knife won't be released until it's won. This will prevent any "I think I'll wait for one in better condition" feelings, and will generally be more fun.

Each individual knife will be given away in this thread, for thirteen days in a row. Each knife's give-away will start as soon as I post it, and will end 24 hours later. Winners will be announced before the start of the next knife's give-away. Again, the give-away order is the order listed above. The first knife to be given away is the Frosts' Mora Craftsman in carbon steel.

Okay, how do you win? All I want you to do is tell me why you should win the specified knife instead of anyone else. I'll pick the winner after 24 hours.

Please let me know if there are any questions.

I would love a chance at the spyderco because I don't own one yet, as far as being more worthy then anyone else I couldn't say.

I'd like to win the Frosts Mora Craftsman because...

1) I'm interested in seeing firsthand the effect of burial on a carbon steel Mora knife.
2) I really like Mora knives but don't have any models with the plastic handles
3) I'll send you something in return, something that hasn't been buried in a tube.

I'd love to have the carbon Kbar, mainly b/c I wished I had one when I was in Iraq ;)

Bribing won't help, although I do expect you (and anyone else) to honor your word if you post something like this ;) It's a kind gesture, but not necessary.
 
I would like a chance at the Mora carbon I have a stainless one (that keeps rusting) and I want to see the steels differ. I do not think I am more worthy than anyone but I don`t think I am too much less worthy;)

Well I find this to be a great thread and give away unique idea!

For the first day I would have to say that a Frosts Craftsman would be great to have for a camping trip were it will get hard use.

I'd like to win the Frosts Mora Craftsman because never had to play with a Mora, despite all the good things (and some not so good) I read on them. I'd like to make an opinion myself.

Thanks for doing this; not only you increase our knowledge (with your own knife/money), but you then give away your knives. Very generous :thumbup:
 
Because you looked at a modern translation instead of the King James.
Read verses 13-16 here to find out why one does not want to be likened to the sons of Sceva. (they got wooped.)

I would love to get my hands on a mora craftsman. I am getting more and more into crafts (due in large part to this website!). I've made my own knife, I am making my own bow, and I was researching how to make a hammock tent when I saw this thread! Also, I have a few good folders, but I do not own a fixed blade. Thanks for the chance, I still think the whole thing (burying and retrieving, plus the giveaway) is an awesome idea!

So, who in the story am I? I find it a bit hard to understand (I'm dealing with a few other things right now LOL).

As for your decision not to allow the doubter to participate, may I suggest that you send him this...the empty pvc tube, since he does not believe there are knives.. In life you get what you believe, fair enough?

I was applying the story to your friend Wally, likening him to the sons of Sceva.

I know who you are. You have earned my trust with many good reviews and comments. I know Kiahs. He's a mod. Never heard of Wally.
 
There is a difference between calling someone a liar and questioning their OP intentions. Don't put words in my mouth, instead concentrate on getting your camera working.

Why do you think I would want to be eligible for one of your knives ? I don't participate in self serving exercises.

In this thread and the one related to it, you've posted three times. All negative. So it appears to me that your only intentions are stirring up trouble, yet you question my intentions of giving away $355 in knives and spending at least $90 to ship them. My camera works just fine sir. Batteries and cameras are different things.

I'm not sure what self-serving exercise I've done by offering things in a give-away. In my nearly five years here, I've never called anybody a name or disrespected anybody for any reason. Looking through your posts, I see a lot of rudeness; calling peoples' knives POSs for example and implying that a give-away is some sort of charade. I see a ton of immaturity in you. You understand my opinion of you and I understand your opinion of me. Thus, I politely request that you not post in my threads any more since all you're doing is causing trouble. If you wish, feel free to start a thread called "JNieporte is a poopyhead" or something.
