Give me a reason not to buy a mini griptilian.

The Mini Grip is the least expensive knife I carry, and its a phenomenal piece. The edge is ground thin, its comfortable for a small knife and is very, very smooth with zero play. Its a modern knife, and the scales are a modern material and IMHO work very well.

My only problem is size. I find it to be way small and verging on the side of unpractical for me. But, I have big hands, and I'm a big guy. So it's not the same for everyone. I also think its priced rather steep for what it is. I wouldn't get one unless I found a good deal. I have the regular grip, only complaint is again msrp of the knife. Try to find it well below.

Unless you're a fan of smaller blades (or already have a regular one) I'd just get the regular 551.

A great thing about the grips are if it gets dirty you can scrub it with dish soap and a sponge and it cleans right up even the yellow scales.

The fit and finish varies (with regard to the lockup, stickiness and blade play). In my experience, coated blades and axis bars are worse than uncoated ones, but I only have two, so... And the edge grind on my first mini grip was terrible. That said, it's one of my favourites (after reprofiling). I definitely prefer it over the delica. Especially for city edc.

don't buy one because you'll end up buying other Benchmades, Spydercos, ZTs, etc etc... You'll be addicted. They are fantastic knives for the money, so good that I gifted a few to my closest friends.

I can give you no reason at all not to buy a mini grip. the mini ritter is one of my favorite edc.

I just bought a mini-grip, Manix 2 and Paramilitary 2. The damn mini grip may end up being my favorite knife of the 3. Gonna put up a review of them tomorrow. The thing is, I really didn't even expect to like the mini grip.

Short and simple, just get it. I have one and love it.

I have a mini grip. Great little EDC knife, love the axis lock and 154cm steel. My only gripe are the scales. Not only do they feel cheap but I think the heel of the knife is too pointy. It curves downward and theres not enough material to rest in your palm when holding it. The Wilkins scales in G10 solve both these issues but at $140 they obliterate the value of the Griptilian...

Go for the Doug Ritter RSK MK1 model of the Mini Grip, as opposed to the standard BM Mini Grip.
I own a mini and a full size Doug Ritter Grip.
Much nicer looking blade and much better slicer with a Wide-Chord Drop Point.
CPM S30V hardened to 58-60 HRC.
For me, the scales are perfect, I don't like the "the usual" so called "custom replacement" scales which feel like and have an appearance of
a square candy bar with small moon craters.
