Give me a reason not to buy a mini griptilian.

I too have a large and small Grip, and various versions; and do highly recommend them. Doug Ritter versions are my favorites tho.

The only reason not to get one is if you are waiting for a particular steel or model, otherwise if you have your eyes fixed for it, I'd say just swipe or click.:)

Like others on this thread, I have mini grips in different blade configurations, and like them all. I'm also a big spyderco delica fan. You can't go wrong either way.

Go for the Doug Ritter RSK MK1 model of the Mini Grip, as opposed to the standard BM Mini Grip.
I own a mini and a full size Doug Ritter Grip.
Much nicer looking blade and much better slicer with a Wide-Chord Drop Point.
CPM S30V hardened to 58-60 HRC.
For me, the scales are perfect, I don't like the "the usual" so called "custom replacement" scales which feel like and have an appearance of
a square candy bar with small moon craters.

I actually like knives with the "blockier" more pronounced edges. I forgot to mention that on the stock mini grip scales its thick in the middle and tapers to thin at the edge...for me I have a hard time feeling how close my fingers are to the opening/blade channel. I usually use this edge on most knives as a guide, so basically this combined with the mini grip being so small my finger tips sometimes get in the way when closing. I think the scales shape work best on the full size...

The scales 'cheapen' an otherwise great knife. Had they just made them solid, instead of hollow, there'd be no problem. And, as someone mentioned, it's a great $50 knife - unfortunately, it typically retails for $80-90 (or more), which just isn't worth it considering the plethora of other brands and models in that same price range. But, if you're going to go with one, as others have mentioned, just go with a Doug Ritter mini RSK1 for a little more money. It still has the same crappy scales, but at least a better blade.

You don't need another knife.

You sir, are in the wrong forum. You ALWAYS need another knife.

I'm not a fan of the grip/mini grip. I thought about buying a full size grip the other day but the axis lock broke while handling it. It got stuck in the open position and wouldn't retract. So, no benchmade's for me. I bought a Kershaw blur instead.

Tge full size is only 5 or 10 dollars mores , so to me the mini is kinda over priced but knife center has great prices on grips , I got a full size one for $75

I love the regular grip and the mini grip. Very smooth action. The mini is a little small even for my small/medium hands. The reason why I won't buy a mini is I don't want anymore BMs with uncentered/rubbing blades. It seems to be about a 50% proposition with the Grip series. :eek:The kicker is the manufacturer won't completely fix the problem if sent in. Don't they don't know how to center their own knives, lol!?:) They don't want to waste manhours/money tweaking VALUE blades (like SOG with their chronic up and down bladeplay).
