Are those the Becker micarta? They look almost green in the pic. I am really digging the bluing on these knives!

Got that micarta from Chestnut Ridge if I recall correctly and it's really darkened up with use. I liked it when I got it and like it better now. My blade isn't blued, fwiw - it's just got a vigorous patina from having been on near constant KP since I've stripped the blade. The more well used it looks, the better I'm liking that too.

Where are you guys getting those micarta handles for your BK11's & BK14's ??? It looks GREAT. How does it make the knife feel (differently) in your hand ??? My BK11 & 14 feels too small & thin for carving or any serious use.
 
I threw together this sheath in about an hour.

The seams and stitching are not very even, but it holds my knife. The finger loop was there when I got it. I have since cut it off and made my own. (just paracord melted together in a ring to avoid the knot)

I like those a lot. They look thinner than the Becker micarta. Maybe it's just the angle of the shot. I may have to check some of those out. I am not too much into cord wrapping. Last year we went fishing and I cleaned up the fish before we left. I had my Izulu wrapped at the time. Cleaned off the blade and threw it in the back of the Jeep. Monday morning got into it after some good ole Texas 100+ temp and the stench from the fish on the paracord could have knocked a buzzard off a shit wagon. No more cord wraps for me haha.
 
kfcounts- thanks, yes I did 'em myself. coyote G10. gotta make a new sheath for it now.

I also radiused the forward part of the handle, much more comfortable now.
 
everyone says the bk14 has better ergonomics. I bought both and while the 14 is slightly longer the 11 feels better in hand to me. I think its because the index finger cut out is a little more deep on the 11 and the end of the handle is more square and gives me a better purchase on the knife.

Which do you guys think feels better
 
Sure, I'm up for a little thread resuscitation.

I thought the 14 (24, actually) felt better after putting scales on, until I radiused the choil on the 11.



Now, they both feel awesome but the 11 is more svelte - the 24's a tad chunky. Partly it's because it's my newest mod, but I find myself reaching for the 11 more often right now.
