Give the BK11 some love

Does the factory sheath full the blade when you draw the bk11. A guy on YouTube had it sharp enough to cut paper put it in and out twice and then it sucked at cutting

Maybe. I haven't had a problem with the three of mine, but I only use one of the stock sheaths I have and not all too often. When I sharpen them they stay sharp a while. I've heard that it was a problem and then it was fixed but I don't know if that's true or not. Honestly - the stock sheath is okay. It's easy to rig up ways to carry it, it has good retention, and it's durable. You know what I don't like about it? It's huge. I pocket carry my Necker, and this sheath takes up a lot of space. I have some kydex sheaths that I made that I typically use to carry them. They're much smaller and they don't take up as much space as the stock sheath. Aftermarket sheaths are cheap enough, and making your own can be fun too. The stock sheath will serve you well...but you eventually will probably want to replace it.

Terrible quality picture, but here are two of my Neckers. One with Micarta and one with some oak scales that just need to be finished.

Are those grips the same as the ones on Amazon? Are they worth the $30 bucks

Those are the factory Micarta.

They're nice, I like them. My new oak ones are more full, and I still want to buy some of the Tommythewho scales.

From what I could see when I got mine, the blade doesn't really touch the sheath enough to matter. It's not like you are going to be drawing/replacing it enough to dull the edge.

Used mine last night at a friends house to cut up steak for putting in some meat sauce I was making. It's nice to know I have a proper blade with me all the time.... (Her kitchen knife collection is not even worthy of being called knives).

They addressed the problem. My BK14 sheath somewhat had dulling issues, but my BK24 sheath doesn't, and neither does my BK11 sheath. BK14 was bought in 2012 (or 11? can't remember, it has the old coating and roll stamp). BK24 is from 2013 and the 11 I just got two weeks back.

That's a nice one, gsom.
Are the scales a little short?

I think I prefer your mini-chef, but I really dig the sabre 11!

Thanks! It feels pretty comfortable in hand (for a 3 finger knife ;)) but I haven't used it yet. Just came a couple of days ago from tman's generous GAW. Mini chef got used yesterday to cut up some cantaloupe:
