belt build up remover? It's hard to tell what it is, but it looks like coiled leather in a pill container.

My guess is a handheld buffer/polisher. That is, if I see correctly, that it is a roll of leather with a weight behind it.

If that's not what it's for, you should try it ;)

It's a hand mallet for knocking shop elves in the head when they're out of line!!! :D

Very cool of you to do Will... hopefully this will help show folks you have nothing against new guys, just poor attitudes. :)

Not a needle holder but getting close. Don't need that so I won't say more. Nice of you to do this though!

LOL

I probably should give a description, it IS a roll of leather in a pill bottle.

Nick, I don't have shop elves, I have an army of ninja monkeys to do my bidding. :) I don't worry about what people think, I know there's plenty of people that have been around me in real life to know I care, I'm just tired of the attitudes.

I'll guess it's either some sort of a funky mortar and pestle for time release morphine :O

or

a leather workers "thimble"?

Rick

CRUD!!! That was my next guess

"soft but firm backing for driving and setting handle and bolster pins"

Man.... if you could combine some of the answers, you'd be really really close.... umm you can guess more than once. :p

Is it used to add a soft barrier when using needles, so you don't poke your fingers?

I really thought y'all wouldn't be anywhere near the answer but y'all are all over it. Except for Go Mike, Rick, Nick and the peanut gallery.
