I've always wanted an Opinel. My brother carries one, I think its a No. 8, for his EDC. If I were lucky enough to win, it would enter into my regular EDC rotation. I would probably carry it exclusively for a week or so, to see how it fits in with my other knives. I love carbon steel blades, so I would want to see how it sharpens up after it's been used a while.

It would be my gentleman's folder. It would also likely prove itself as my own gateway drug equivalent to Opinel knives, and I'd wind up seeking out the rest of the collection.

I hope you can post some pics of it in use and maybe give a brief review for it. I hope you like it, but if isn't to your taste or you don't think you'll ever be using it I hope you can let someone else on the forum give it a try.

I checked it out after receiving it earlier this week and it seems like a well made, sharp knife. There was a tiny speck of tarnish appearing on the spine so I removed most of it and gave the blade a coat of Rem Oil (wanted it to look good when you opened it). ;)

I wish I had more of them to give away, especially after reading some of the "if I won it" posts. Heck, I wish I had one!!! I won cchu518's old Delica in another giveaway though and I didn't want to the giving to stop with me. I ordered the Opinel since everyone talked about what a great value they were, and after handling the #7 I can believe it.

It may become my Boy's "Scout" pocket knife. Classic design and light for them to use.
Plus, very safe if used correctly.
