The only way I can see this is thus:

"Pappy" (Tim) runs a small company.

He's the only one that checks emails/phone calls.

He's frequently out or traveling, thus the lack of communication.

So far, it seems like everything has worked out in the end, albeit after a substantial and unprofessional waiting period.

I hope this all works out for the best. I'd hate to see a good maker get trashed over something as simple as a lack of communication, however I would also hate to see people repeatably get ripped off in any way. Be it time, stress, knives or other goods, or straight money.

As a point of information, when you click on a member's profile it provides information as to their last activity on bladeforums. The individual you are referring to above:

Josh, thank you for your support, we appreciate it.

I think it best at this juncture to avoid any assumptions until the facts are known.

If/when the OP takes the time to fill us in regarding the history and substance of any communication on this matter (and/or lack thereof) we will be in a better position to move forward. Until then it'll just be speculation or piling on for one side or the other without knowing the "facts".

We all know things can come up and cause a delay, but it would take less time to send a p.m or e-mail than it did to do the original listing.

It is just a material object, but it is a matter of principle that people follow through with their promises.

I've had an opportunity to discuss this matter with the OP who regrets that the lack of information provided in the original posting allowed speculation to run rampant.

I have determined from that contact that Pappy/Tim Balda has no involvement whatsoever in this matter and that the errant party is another member of the forums.

That individual will be given the opportunity to make good on his giveaway/promises before any further action is considered or taken (and will not be named in this thread).

This thread will remain closed. Apologies are due to Tim Balda for any rush to judgment in this matter since he was in no way connected with the matter under consideration. Hopefully this will be a valuable lesson for us all.
