Giveaway: Old or New

Thanks for the chance - I´d love that Henckells. What a beautiful knife!

This years activity? Well, I was insulating my house and spent very much time with my son at his age of seven months now. But I also discovered something I never thought I would like. Orchids... these flowers have there own appeal, are beautiful and need not so much of attention. I almost got three of these beauties in the early summer and one of them is almost gone ... but here is the most beautiful right now. I don´t know if it will survive wintertime - eventually I tend to forget to give her some water... :rolleyes:

Generous GAW knives, and congrats for your book, I'll probably order one sometimes in the near future.

I took a trip down to Oregon a couple weeks ago. It started out as a Craigslist deal, but became an all day affair when I passed this place (before they opened) and had to stop on my way back. Evergreen Air & Space Museum is now the home of the Spruce Goose, as well as one of the largest collections of aircraft anywhere. The only two collections I know are larger are the USAF Museum in Dayton and the Boeing one. This place is huge. I did not see it all. There are several buildings, including one that's dedicated to a water park so the kids have a place to play. They have all kinds of games (flying) for kids inside too. The basic premise of the display is threefold, aircraft (including spacecraft), guns, and Boy Scouts; they have displays for each. They have a huge movie theater and it shows 5-6 movies a day. They have a complete aircraft restoration facility on the other side of the freeway and I saw them working on an OV-1 Bird Dog and what I think was an F-86. They have an A6M3 Zero in pieces too. They have several planes I've seen in other places, including a Sopwith Camel that used to belong to Frank Tallman. Since this place is right in the middle of Oregon Wine country I guess I'm going to have to take a weekend off and go back.

I like old knives if that's helpful...

Here's a shot of part of the floor of the hanger the Spruce Goose is in.

Very very generous GAW Mike - I guess I will say I am in for the J.A. Henckels coke bottle, although any of your prizes, including the book would be nice to win.

Thank you. :thumbup::)

I think "that other GAW thread" might be distracting some from your fine GAW. :D

Oops - sorry Mike - I thought I read the rules - watched my kitty watching Animal Planet on TV. :D

Great pictures. Keep them coming. I see a few have entered without posting pictures of their activities from this past summer, but there's still time to add them in. I'll have the winners picked tomorrow night. Thanks again.

Just downloaded the Kindle sampler of your book to my iPhone - looks like I'll be reading it soon one way or another. Thanks for the great GAW.:thumbup:

Spent lots of time with the garden this summer - best tomato crop ever!:cool:

Nothing like home-grown tomatoes or any other fruit & veg I say! Healthy and satisfying tending them, then there's the choice of Traditional for Harvesting:D

Here's one I find handy for gathering veg

Thanks, Will
