Glock Perfection Perfected

BOWMAN . . .

Have you seen the new SUREFIRE .22 suppressors . . . ?

Now I have to figure which auto to go with . . . I want own at least one suppressor before I die . . .

I had considered a Ruger 10/22 barrel integrated suppressor, but I like the idea of being able to dump the suppressor if need be.

I am not a glock fan I don't shoot them well I don't care for the grip . I however know they are reliable as it gets I will stick to my XD . I just had a 870 custom put together for myself nothing like having a gun just exactly like you want:thumbup: enjoy you gun rnPollard :D

They need to learn to get a proper grip every time. The 1911 has proven itself a safe design for more than 100 years.

I think one of my buddies has the grip thing down pat on his 1911s . . . he keeps getting these trophies . . . . :-)

I have, but anything that says Surefire on it, that doesn't light up, is too expensive for me! LOL When you're ready to make the leap to get that suppressor, give me a holler, I'll walk ya through it.

I've enjoyed this thread. I've spent enough time in Law Enforcement and I've trained hundreds of people in Use Of Force training and I believe that if you carry a gun you need to be prepared for two things if you ever have to use it.

1. You are going to be arrested.
2. You are going to be sued.

I've also mellowed in my old age and I pray that I will never have to use my pistol but if I do I want to make sure that I hit what I intend to hit. That is why I added the RMR, which stands for Ruggedized Miniature Reflex, sight on my Glock. I had it put on the 23 because it gives me the greatest flexibility in regards to ammo and it allows me to mount a light. When I carried it concealed the end of the butt printed. I then started carrying the 26, no more printing but I found that I shot the 23 with the 9mm conversion barrel much better than I shot the 26.

It was at this point that I decided to chop the grip of my 23. As it turns out I love it. IMHO it carries and shoots better than the sub compact. The suppressor sights that are mounted allow you to co-witness the sights with the red dot. If the RMR goes down you still have sights.

Before I modify a gun I think about it in regards to the two main points above. I want to make sure that I will be able to justify my actions in court.

Everything that I have done has been done with the thought that someday I might have to use my pistol in self defense. Nothing that I have done changes any of the safety features. I shoot with the standard Glock trigger.

sde... you should recommend that your friends take their 1911s to a competent gunsmith and have their grip safeties repaired immediately.

I'm sure he's referring to a race gun. Something a person would NEVER carry. Which, I'd love to be able to say I open carried a race gun to Walmart once in my life, but if ya ever had to use the thing... Man o' man, I bet them nails they use to crucify ya in court with sting like a mf-er!

Edited to add. The Glock is one of, if not the most polarizing guns in history. Many a arguments fought over likin' & dislikin' 'em. I used to hate 'em. My first polymer gun was an H&K usp. Always started my argument in a gunshop by sayin' fellers who owned Glock bought 'em cause they can't spell Heckler & Koch. Yeah, it went over about like a turd in a punchbowl. Since then I've bought 2 Glock & have plans on buyin' a third. Gave my wife the usp. She loves it almost as much as I did & still do.

No suppressors here. I prefer no record of property. My firearms are bought, sold, and traded via private sales.

Surefire missed the mark with the Ryder. Aluminum baffles vs stainless steel or inconel? Screw you surefire. I've got a SWR/SilencerCo Spectre II on a form 3 right now. I did hear a $398 street price on the Ruder which isn't outrageous...

Or a G34 cut to take 19 mags. $600 carry dream, and the 34 has a lighter trigger and better sights.

you can put a zev or skimmer or 3.5# connector in any Glock
You can put any sights on any glock

Your $600 is more like $700 at least. Blue label guns do not have swapped triggers or sights. I believe Bud's wants close to $600 for a G34

Glocks are nice for many reasons, but as far as accuracy I prefer a nice 1911 or a descent revolver. Glock is pretty much the AK of the pistols and I love how simple it is to field strip and clean. If the trigger didn't have as much creep, it'd be a lot more accurate, but I guess a gunsmith could tweak that. Glock as far as the price, is just awesome IMHO.

Good read. You bring up good points that anyone who carries, should understand, and be honest with themselves about, before they start carrying....
It's not like it is on the T.V
