I have a lightly carriered KA-BAR DOZIER TORN it still has is sharp factory edge.The body has been modified so the clip can be used for tip up or tip down..its a good job. Email me if you want to trade:)
 
half life of the active material is about 12.32 years according to google, so they work for that long... and after that, they are half as bright, and continue to work, for 12.32 for more, then half, and ...

i'm guessing that one might lose or otherwise get rid of them before 12 years, let alone 24 :)
