Alright guys and gals i finally did it,
Or at least iv started here are the blanks i drew using a CAD program and had a local WaterJet shop Cut for me.
These are original but i have no doubt that some of them will resemble others who have inspiered me.
They are all very beefy 3/8" thick  A2
Tell me what you guys think.
Thanks

These are 2 large Kiridashi's
They are both 7 1/2" long
The harpoon model will have a 2 5/8" cutting edge
The plain one will have a 2 1/8" cutting edge

This ones a small EDC Kiridashi
Its 4 1/2" long and will have a 1 1/4" cutting edge

I jokingly cal this one the Chubby Persian EDC
Its 6 1/2" over all and will have a 2 1/2" cutting edge

This one is my GRAIL iv been thinking about something like this for a long long time. I know not everone will like this but i love it.
I also need a name for this MONSTER
25" over all will have a cutting edge just over 18"

Those little gears are some lanyard beads im working on I had them cut because i wanted to get all i could out of the slab of steal. Im going to Sand blast them to get the surface rust out of the teeth and give it a nice uniform finish than ill polish the flats up and i think they will be pretty snazy.

So what do you guys think?

Those look great AntCaps, love the kiridashi designs. The little gears are awesome too. Make the next batch out of Ti, sandblast them, then flame/anodize them.

I did think of using Ti believe me! I just cant justify the cost of the Ti plus the WaterJet if they sold they would produce a profit but id have to sell a lot of them.
Its deffinatly on the back burner i intend on drilling holes inbetween teeth on oposing sides so when you put them on your lanyard you will see the profile of the gear and the cord threw the center.
I dont spell real well lol but iv got some neat ideas.

I imagine the fees for the precision of the waterjet service are not cheap. The method does appear to produce perect patterns too. Can't wait to see these when they are finished. Nice work, definitely have design talent. Congrats!

I agree with drop point's Monstrum suggestion. Or maybe call it "Igor" :D

Some very nice pieces, can't wait to see some grinds on them especially those kiridashis

I use a waterjet, too. Cleanest, nicest cut you've ever seen! My guy charges $40/job, whether it's one piece or fifty. Are you going to freehand grind the cleaver? If not, I'm looking for a machine shop that can do some symmetrical grinds for me.

Thanks

The grinds might be a while yet but the little kiridashis will be the first attempted because they seem like they will be the simplest annnnnd if i mess up a couple i have 8 of them lol.
I just weighed the monster and it comes in at right around 6.5 pounds i expect that to drop to around 5ish once ground (full flat grind is the hope).
When i do eventually start the grinding ill be sure to photograph my progress and share even if i butcher them.
Thanks for all the interest and encouragement please keep it coming.

Hey Shorttime, I probably wont be doing the cleaver myself to be honest. The shop I use could probably help you out they do much more than just WaterJet but where are you located?
oh and thats a sick deal your getting i spend a significant amount more but they are great guys to work with and there close to home.

Holy $#!+ 6.5 lbs!? That's gonna be one hell of a chopper! Can't wait to see that one finished. Any idea on what you'll be using for scales on it?

i really like it, it's like a meat cleaver-machete chopper. that would be a great zombie tool

Hey DroppointT1110 im probably going to go with some black G10 with some toxic liners and as for hardware and a fastening method.....Iv got some beefy Ti socket head hex screws on the way and because the stock is so thick there going to be tapped right into the tang.
yea its super heavy aha and i got pretty dam close to my estimation of 7 pounds ill see if i can get a picture of this thing in hand than you can see the tru size of it.

Black G10 and toxic (green?) liner would be awesome IMO. Will you be making more of them because by the sound of it so far, I'm gonna' want one haha. Looking forward to the pics.

Oh yea toxic green all the way.
I want to start making or at very least design some things or use CAD to transfer peoples drawings to something a WaterJet place could use but its probably going to be a while before im ready to start selling complete knives i want to have knives im proud of before i sell them to anyone.
So if i do in the future start selling you’ve got first dibbs on any more of these monsters i make.
Thanks again for the interest im blown away by the positive feedback.

Yeah I love toxic green...thats going to look great. I will definitely be on the lookout when you start selling but in the meantime, its always cool to see projects come together.

This project has been in the works for like 5 months it took a long time to get the funds for the material and to find a local WaterJet place plus the drawings changed dramatically but im super happy with what iv got, Im looking forward to carrying the chubby persian everyday and when i hold that monster i feel the urge to scream THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE! aha.

You should call it "Nautilus, Sword of the Ocean". The profile looks just like the Nemo's ship from The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

I finally remembered. The cleaver looks like Laci Szabo meets Todd Begg. Both of whose work makes me giggle foolishly.

6.5 pounds??!! i've got axes that don't weigh that much!

i love that "stubby persian", that's an awesome little design.

those scalpel looking designs made me thing of throwing knives at first glance, but then i see throwing knives when i see just about anything with a point or a sharp edge. i'm weird like that.

i'm gonna have to search the local area and see if i can find a waterjet guy.
