What is this?

This is a wide diamond knot but just part of it, but it does make it a good size to hook with my pinky to draw the knife out. The skull bead is well done and one of my favourite ones. The paracord used is from Werewolves, 700lb and is what they call their Bronze, it's pretty ;)

This big boy is a limited production folder by Mark Scimgeour ( CPK Mark CPK Mark ) who is a lieutenant to Nathan the Machinist of the Carothers Performance Knives (aka CPK) fame. Mark has had extensive apprenticeship and experience with some famous folder makers and Mark is the person who is collaborating with Nathan when CPK will be ready to produce and present their own folders. This beast folder shares the same Delta HT protocol as do all other CPK knives made from CPM-3V steel, obviously it is un Ti construction with frame lock.

The bad news is that they are extremely rare (maybe by special order when Mark is not too busy with the CPK projects) mostly available at the Blade Shows presented via the Carothers booths, they are quite pricey ($750 for this version which incorporates Mark's "mad grinds" and an Edgecut Antique Micarta backspacer but I think that the mist basic ones with drop point start at 700) but IMHO well worth it if compared to some other names which I would not mention in here but suffice to say that a lesser knifemaker using this level of material and craftsmanship would probably demand quite a bit more than the CPK folks. Lastly it weighs a ton for a folder (~8.8 ounces this one!) so it is not for the faint-of-heart-gentlemanly-types and pocketing in a sturdy pair of pants is a must, preferably with a belt unless you wish to expose your buttocks :p I carry my MF proudly while out and about on hikes and such while wearing jean pants and I truly believe that this robust beast of a folder can easily replace many fixed blades including those of Nathan's in similar size!

Some pics in reference to a Spyderco Military which is my other big folder (when held in hand, the MF aka Mark Folder makes the ~4.7 ounce Military feel dainty and puny!) and another comparison to CPK's latest pattern, Nathan's interpretation of Horace Kephart's classic. The CPK Kephart is 9.625 OAL, 5.0 BL which weighs ~7 ounces:

Great pics uncle Matty, thank you.

That is a beauty!!! Love the.color scheme!
It is SO hard to get a decent picture of it. Gonna try outside if the sun comes out today.

Although new…it’s from 2019. Spoke with Eugene last night and this was the 55th full entropic across all models made. They began this finish in late 2018.
