Go to folder 2" and under

I got a sub 2" auto, but removed the spring for possible legality purposes. Without the spring, it is impossible to open without engaging the button, which is very nice. Also doubles as a keyholder.

I've been debating on moving to a location that I'm still unsure of the knife laws. The last I heard the law was under 2".

Is it Chicago by chance? If so, the limit is only 2" if you're under eighteen, and jumps to a whopping 2.5" otherwise. I ask because I've seen a lot of people claim the limit is 2" in Chicago around here (which again, is true-ish, insomuch as that's the case if you're under eighteen, but absolutely incorrect otherwise).

Nope, Japan. That's why I mentioned that I was unsure of their laws at this time. I have a couple friends that live over there and are going to eventually have them look up the laws.

You might try asking specifically about knife laws in Japan on the 'knife laws' forum. I believe there are some forum members who live there. That would be your best bet.

Personally, I'd be very careful about carrying any knife in Japan, especially in the city, and especially one that locks.

I don't know knife laws very well, my area has lax laws. But doesn't the 2" blade rule apply only to Autos? Other knives can be different sizes. Otherwise you would be in trouble any time you butter your toast or cut your steak.
