We all have had times when we've used our knives in a normal civilized manor and had negative reactions heres mine from today. I went into the local Salvation Army and was looking at dvds when I noticed a box that had more dvds in it but wasn't fully opened so I asked if they were for sale or somebodys and they said they were for sale so I asked if I could open the box up, sure the guy says. So I open my Spyderco Tenacious to cut the couple pieces of tape and this dumb bitch walks up and says "You can't have that in here" and turns around and says "he's got a knife this big" and opens her hands like 14" wide, it's a Tenacious not my Cold Steel extra large voyager or something huge jeez lady exagerate much. I just walked away cause you can't deal with people like that once they've hit full retard. The kicker is I walked to the back and they had hundreds of kitchen knives and most of them were chefs knives with 8-12" blades on them for like .50ea. Hell they had a generic claymore and one of those fantasy "cloud buster" swords in a glass case with no lock on it but my Spyderco is gonna get em

With those two swords in there you mentioned, I wish I had a Salvation Army store here that was this like this one. Sadly, I almost never see anything in there that I'd actually want.

There are so many good come-backs to that, and I can't say any of them here. :) But you were wise to walk away. Smarter than I would have been.

Hmmm. I've actually never had a real "freakout" experience before. Maybe it's because I'm in NC and ever other person has a knife.

Agreed. As long as the knife I'm using is legal and I'm using it in a reasonable manner then I couldn't care less what some dumb b**** has to say about it. What she doesn't realize is that her antics make her look like a fool, and now everyone around her is judging her, not you...

Truthfully I probably would have just told her to mind her own business and worry about real problems, not some guy's perfectly legal pocket knife.

Some people are just scared of stuff. I'll be honest that there are some shady lookin folk in those stores (including the workers hehe). Like you did, best to just move along :)

Funny thing...Ask someone "gotta knife?" in CA and the normal response is "why would I have a knife?"

Ask the same question in NC and the normal response is "how big ya need?"

:D
:p that's a good way to answer, let me try that next time.

That is why I carry a Victorious Pioneer Harvester in my pocket. The small hawkbill blade is very small and raises no eyebrows.

I don't carry it for their benefit...but for my convenience.

tell em they really better steer clear of that other Carolina too :D

Wonder how far she would have held her hands apart if I had used my 0560, maybe 3 feet?
