Megatron,

I saw that I had to register with the Usual folks only after I replied to you. I have since registered and soon hope to read what is being said in that forum. Take it easy.

I just got back from Blade about 2 hrs. ago and thought I'd add my .02 on the theft caper....
I heard in "The Pit" last night that some guy had stolen 4 boxes of handle wood of some sort and had been caught and removed from the premises in bracelets.
Apparently he was recorded on one or more of the surveillance cameras and had set the loot by one of the dumpsters where he was later arrested after returning to pick it up.

Whatta' guy, huh?Have a feeling his name will be made public soon, and his reputation will be sealed.Anyone see any Impala bone,I didn't make it to Blade and was wondering?

If he were in Louisiana we would of took him down to the swamp tied him down to a stump and let the snakes and gators take care of him.

No you wouldn't...

You forgot about the fireants. :D

I was using the loading dock around 7 p.m. on Friday evening and I saw a Cobb County detective (who I know) directing some employees of the property management. They were digging through one of the large dumpsters just outside the door. I saw the "victim" identifying two boxes that had been pulled from the trash. I could see that the boxes contained handle material. At that time, I did not know what had happened.

The following day I was speaking with a dealer and he mentioned hearing the story about "so & so" being arrested. He said that he had gone over to "so & so's" table to buy some desert ironwood and was told that he had been hauled off to jail. He related the story that the victim and the suspect have an on-going fued. As the victim was setting up his table, he went back out to get some more stuff from his vehicle. While he was gone, the suspect loading up the boxes that were laying on his table and took them out to the dumpster.

I know that what I saw on Friday did happen however, since the story that I was told is considered hearsay, I'm not going to name names so don't even ask.

I think it is real appropriate NOT to post the alleged perpitraitor, and/or, alleged victim names....might be harmful to BladeForums or the poster if done.

Yeah, most folks at the show were aware it allegedly happened. Rumor was that it wasn't a profit oriented thing, but like Chuck said a bad blood between the alleged perp. and alleged victim thing. Rumor was that the alleged stolen goods were tossed in a dumpster. Too Damn Bad that these guys waste energy on having bad blood...not enough energy to waste on letting that feeling rot your gut (I know that from past personal experience).........ought to just ignore each other if they can't mend the problems between them...but really ought to mend the problem if at all possible...
my 2 cents worth: I am far from perfect myself, and don't have a right to pass any judgement on anyone, but if either of the parties involved read this, please try to fix the issues between you guys....its a lot healthier to channel your energy in a positive direction. PLEASE GUYS!

For those with show lists the simplest way to solve this "Who Dun It" is to list the purported victim and arrested perpetrator by table numbers.

The thing is, the names of the two people involved have already been made public on another forum some time ago before this whole Blade Show thing. In that post one of the guys is made out as the bad guy and the other as the good guy, in other words, it is a very judgemental post which seems very damaging to the one guy's business when people read it.

Now I don't know anything about the whole fued and am not taking any sides one way or the other. Please read that again. My dog isnt in that fight. I agree that the parties involved should (have already) found a way to settle their differences. Perhaps now the courts will have to settle them. Trial by Internet is always a bad thing.

But as the names of the people involved are already public knowledge, it would seem to me fair to make the facts of this incident - At least as far as it concerns such public incidents as arrests and alleged theft - also public as Chuck notes above, before anyone draws further conclusions.

It also seems unfair to other dealers of ironwood or materials at the show, who may have their reputations sullied by mistaken assuptions that they are one of the involved parties.

I for one would rather hear it from someone that was there than from hear say
from another forum or who ever.

steeling is steeling, no matter how they want to feud if they don't have the common sense to be civil I don't think either should be selling goods..
if they are both indeed antagonizing each other..
I'd say if they can't get along,,, then don't get along,,, an keep their distance..
it seams obvious they don't have a lot of business ethics in the first place or they would know it can only hurt themselves.. and has..

being arrested will put him in the court papers as public news anyway
state ver so and so.
if someone spreads gossip that's one thing if someone knows for sure then that's another thing.. hey so and so got put in cuffs , it don't mean he did the crime, if people jump to conclusions that's a self fault and, as the saying goes
if you live by the sword you'll die by the sword, we have to sleep in the bed we make for our selves..forethought goes a lonnnnng way..

I was outside when they pulled all of the iron wood from the dumpster. he was getting even with his competitor. smuggling it out in a trash can and dumping it in the big dumpster. They caught him red handed. BUSTED. stupid people do stupid things.

Even more accurate; stupid ANGRY people do stupid things.

As of today: I was told that the Blade Show "directors" have deterimed that the responsible person will NOT be allowed at the show ever again.

So who stole from whom? If somebody was arrested it's already public knowledge, why not post their names?
I was at the blade show and spoke to the guy from ADI who just had his ironwood stolen. He said he had an idea of who stole the wood but wouldn’t say. The next day I came by his table and he told me what happened: Sandy Tutor was caught on cam stealing 3 heavy boxes of ironwood from his table and throwing them into the dumpster. 3 months of hard work. I really feel for this guy after hearing all the suffering he and his family have gone through, and believe it is he who is being threatened and harassed by Sandy.

Apparently, Sandy fired up some rebels without a cause, gave them a cause, and unleashed them to do his dirty work: spreading horrible rumors on the web to try and ruin his rep in the knife maker community. I’ve read a usn thread on this as well, with skepticism. But if you carefully read all the accusations against Rob and check out a couple of things you’ll start to see a pattern of false accusations.

For example, Sandy's guy published on USN that Rob copied his website verbatim. I’ve been buying from Rob’s website for years (ADI). Sandy’s, sight however, is so new it is still under development. Who copied who? Compare for yourself: See site start dates at the bottom of both websites. www.arizonaironwood.com http://www.ironwoodsandy.com/default.htm

Here’s another bogus claim: Sandy went so far as to say Rob threatened his life and filed a non harassment claim with the courts: basically attempting to restrict Rob from their supplier sources. Rob contested and a judge dissolved the claim 2 weeks later, after Rob proved the claims were completely false. Judge said Rob could counter, but Rob refused. Check it out: Pima County Justice Courts: Ref. Case No. 05-005552.

Another USN: Rob was accused of stealing Sandy’s ironwood and breaking into his safe. Rob says he has never been accused of stealing anything. Rob said he even checked crime records at Pima County Justice Court in Tucson and found no theft report made by Sandy or his wife to date (6-10-05). Check it out….The claim is completely false…

USN: someone wrote that Sandy basically took Rob in from off the streets, gave him a job and put him through school. Rob says he and Sandy were neighbors and he helped Sandy on a handful of occasions: only when Sandy was in a pinch. To date, Rob says he has only worked 12-15 days for Sandy, total. And if anyone believes Sandy put rob through a prestigious graduate program, with tuition costs exceeding $65,000, they must be ill.

Finally, June 3rd 2005 Atlanta Blade Show. Sandy Tudor is caught on cam stealing nearly 100lbs of ironwood burl: nearly $10,000 worth: all confirmed by the Cobb County Police Dept. Sandy was arrested and charged with a felony crime and spent the rest of the weekend in jail. Rob recovered 90%. He didn’t even press charges against the guy. Check it out: Ref. Case No. 05082462.

Rob and his family continue to get creepy phone calls at home and business: day and night. Rob say’s he will not be intimidated, he will stay in the business and that he prays for the harassment to end.
