It wouldn't hurt to use some hog wild too... Especially if you're staying a few days. Check your local game laws first though.
 
thats interesting. iirc baiting or luring game in california is illegal though.

maybe when we go to utah we can try that.

If it doesn't work out, hop on a flight to texas -- we'll bait 'em, run dogs and just about anything else we can think of to get some. They're a real nuisance here and people are quite glad to thin the population.

Is Los Padres in the San Benito County? It sounds very familiar. I must have seen in on the BLM Map. I think the place that a buddy and I tried out was Los Pinos.

actually, more specifically we are going to los pinos. los padres is the whole area/national forest.
