Going to try to carry one knife as my main EDC... For one year

I wasn't even trying to be a part of this commitment, but I've been alternating between two knives since it started: XM-18 & DDR Madd Maxx

I am going to join you in carrying 1 knife for a year! As soon as my Mini Pocket Rocket gets here, I will be participating in this experiment. This knife is THE one for me. I also usually carry a slip joint with my primary knife, and a pry bar. Is that OK? I am really excited about this!!!! I am VERY serious about doing this.

If you don't mind me asking, what makes it "the ONE" TKC? I know you have a bunch of fantastic knives, so I'd be interested in hearing your opinion on what puts that one above the rest. Thanks!
 
a friend of mine has carried a kershaw leek for over three years.he finally stopped early this summer because of the customs/assisted fiasco,along with cops in queens grabbing everyone they see with a pocket clip in plain view. what a lousy way to stop his streak !
 
My attempt to carry one knife EDC failed due miserable knife. I'll join you guys at the next year, and try again (after christmas shop-a-tron).

That leads me to ask, does it count if I keep one knife as EDC and then switch secondary knife?
 
i'm doing 1 knife for a week and it's hard for me not to switch up :D
When i get my manix 2 s90V i think i'm going to carry it for a long time befor switching :p

I am carrying C83 Persian as my primary EDC for at least two years every day with very rare exeptions, when I go out of state(it was my weekend knife prior to this). In addition to Persian I carry my Caly3 every day for more than three years as my "clean" knife-lunch, fruits. Couple days every week I have Kopa. Still most of the cutting done by Persian.
So does this fit the rules? Than I am already all set and do not have any plans to change. I probably bought more than sixty knives, since I started to carry Persian, but didn't find anything better.

I can honestly say i have done that, actually with 2 knives at the same time. I've been carrying both my frn spyderco cricket and a SAK moneyclip, unless im undressed or in my pajamas. I have actually been EDC'ing these for more like 3 years. I have also EDC'd the same large folder for more than a year, although that was a few years ago with my gerber a/f covert.
 
wow, how did i miss this thread???

i would join the edc longevity contest, but i am currently rotating between three knives and i am sure my rotation will not qualify.

at work i use the small micarta. once home, i switch to the large micarta. for special occasions i use the mammoth mnandi.

That's really a nice knife! :D

I only made it three months with that Sebenza :) Its was fun, and I probably could of done it, but I did break into hives and had the shakes... So my DGG SnG went back into my pocket :D

today it was a XM-18, day before that it wa a Damascus Sebenza, before that it was a S90V Military...

Rotation is more my style I guess :o :cool:
