Looks like Benchmade has outdone itself. They're bringing out a Gold Class Bugout. Kinda like making a silk purse out of a sow's ear. And all for $637.50.

Is this their way of making up for their recent fiasco?

They announced the Gold Class Bugout well before their recent negative headlines.

“Gold Class Bugout” sounds to me like the contradiction in terms of the year and >$600 for one is insane. You could get a nice customized Olamic 247 for that kind of money.

Agreed. Besides, for the price they charge every Gold Class knife I've ever seen has been butt ugly. Does anyone buy these things?

Can’t imagine dropping $600 on a Bugout. You’ve really gotta be a BM junkie to do that.
I’d have another Hinderer in the stable for that $.

The gold class is some of the most high priced knives out there for a production company. I wonder how they sell. At least they do provide very high end fancy knives for their fans. I’d never buy one but they are pretty

You’re right, but... A Bugout is a Bugout is a Bugout even if they do put a lot of lipstick on it, and a >$600 Bugout makes as much sense as a VW beetle with tail fins and a Rolls Royce hood ornament. IMO the time is right for the BM CEO to order MH evals and drug testing of all BM marketing, sales, R&D and PR employees.

Gold Class Bugout is crazy to me.

What makes perfect sense to me is buying a Bugout and swapping out the scales for aftermarket aluminum, ti, or cf. having one of those set up to feel better in hand, look great, and have that awesome blade around $200 ... that, I could easily get behind.

Gold class is a firm “nope” for me, though.

If they are trying to make up, doesn't sound like they are trying very hard to get back together.

Yeah, it was announced way before their recent PR issue.

Actually I believe it's out as I saw someone in a BM Fb group post they had bought one.

I agree about price, a $600 Bugout is nuts, hell a $300 Bugout is nuts.

What I want is just a Bugout with cf scales.

You can get some very nice aftermarket contoured CF scales for $85 bucks, A Bugout for $120, and a cool blue Titanium Ano screw kit for $20! Is it made from Super steel because it doesn't add up o_O.

I could get a $300 custom knife and a weekend away with my wife with the rest. I did see a bugout with glow in the dark handles somewhere, idk what the msrp is but I like glow in the dark
