Gold Class Bugout

They won't release it if there was not a market for it.
I will pass on this one. Again. I think my most recent Benchmade is actually a Bugout I got a couple months after the release.

yeah, I think benchmade's gold class has always been an overreach milking the hard-core supporters

for that kind of money, I personally would be getting a high end custom, or maybe rockstead
but at least they do use the munin damasteel, which is pretty nice if you like unique dama

I usually feel like the Gold Class Bencies are a poor value forwhat you get. There have been some exceptions.

I went to a new knife store last weekend and they had some gold class BM's next to some CRK's. Actually made the CRKs look more affordable and a great deal lol

The only thing impressive to me about the bugout gold class, is that they managed to keep the weight so low. But I don't spend that kind of money on companies who have shown that even in their upper end, they have some QC problems. But to those who want to go for it, then go for it. I am not going to judge

I would not purchase a Gold Class Bugout because I don't normally care for things that flashy. I have considered a normal Bugout and decided against it because I have a BM 531.

However, I have handled a Gold Class 531 and was very impressed. Not $600 dollars impressed but impressed enough that I'm convinced that Benchmade can make a quality high-end knife if they want too.

Not surprising since so many people have been hyping such a smallish folder that features an average steel and flexing plastic scales that you can literally squeeze together.
You make the scales sound much worse than they actually are. And, even though S30v is not the best steel; it certainly is not average.
Tell me, have you ever even tried a Bugout? Or, are basing your comments on the review from Nick Shabazz?

Squeeze together like this? They flex side to side with a small amount of pressure too.

It's fine, just not the gold class bugout I was hoping for. They threw every obnoxious material they could at it, aiming for Instagram collector market. I just wanted a titanium one with s90v or some such steel.

Agreed. I don't need all the fancy inlay and stuff BM offers in their Gold series. Give me upgraded materials but keep the knife simple.

Exactly. I would've been fine with a Ti, marbled cf or ivory micarta handle and polished s90v for a street price of $250-300. Put it in the 940-1 territory.

Before the whole Benchmade fiasco, I was hoping they would put out a M390/20CV version with G10.

Calm down mate. I never said or implied s30v is bad. But in this age it is an average steel no question about that. I still own s30v steel blades like a s30v digicam PM2 and I like it.
