Gold Class Bugout

I see your point but, it brings up a question. How many Bugout owners use their knife when they are hiking, camping or backpacking? Or, better yet, how many purchased their knife with the purpose of backpacking or camping in mind? It is my understanding that this is the market that BM aimed the knife at.

Obviously I can't speak for everyone, but I bought the Bugout specifically for camping and hiking. If I want a solid working EDC knife, I go with my Griptillian with custom G10 scales. If I want a discrete EDC I go with my Dividend. I have a Salt Native 5 for when I am around water, and a customized SOG Twitch II when I want to be classy and subtle. Finally I have a CQC-4KX for sketchy situations.

I don't buy a knife unless I can think of a circumstance where that particular model would be significantly better than anything I already have.

As for the Bugout, if you aren't going with something ultra-light (like a Salt Ladybug), there is nothing that comes close to the Bugout for blade length to weight ratio.

At $899 Canadian (plus tax and shipping), I don't think I'll be getting one.

Too many nice knives to spend that kind of money on a gold class bugout. I just ordered a couple Rough Ryder slippies as I can't see a store visit in the next month or so. I actually had to ponder whether I wanted to spend the money.... Knife show visit in a couple days too.
