Gold Class Bugout

Id rather support american made too, doesnt mean im gonna overspend for sub par quality. I own CRKs, benchmades, microtechs, and We's.

It is not. Ive personally handled dozens of benchmades and dozens of We Knives over the last 6 or 7 years and nearly every benchmade has had some issue, while I dont believe I've seen a non perfect We. Even their low end line, Civivi, has far better quality control than Benchmade, sadly.

I have received several perfect benchmades in the past few years. I have found that WE, etc arrive looking great but frequently don't hold up to use. I am the guy in my friend group that fixes and shapens knives for those that can't so I get my hands on a variety of blades.

This is on point!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Also, I’m going to suggest we stop comparing Benchmade to Rolex(LOL). All my Benchmades have blade play, (except the Anthem), haven’t been that sharp from the factory, don’t hold an edge very well, some have been off centered, and 95% of them go down in value the moment to buy them except for a few limited editions which is one of the biggest reasons the Rolex comparison is WAY WAY off.

In years past, I thought Benchmades were the gold standard of pocket knives (like Rolex of the watch world) until I found out about CRK, Les George, Hinderer, Rockstead, Shiro etc.

Older Chris Reeve (21s and older) might be the best comparison to Rolex bc of quality, tight tolerances all around, performance, heirloom knife, and they tend to hold there value and the vast majority of older CRKs have gone up in value over time, like Rolex.

The only Benchmade I’d spend money on now is the Anthem. What a surprise that knife is all around!!!!!

I cannot imagine paying $850 for a gold class Bugout with all the other options out there at that price but some collectors love Benchmade so I can’t necessarily fault them for wanting a Gold Class model to add to their collection but I wouldn’t buy one even if they were $250.

I don't think comparing a knife to Rolex is that much of a compliment. A Hamilton or Omega keeps better time for less money. They just aren't mentioned in Rap songs.

Agree to disagree. I still carry my benchmades, they're just 100% overpriced for the quality and materials, even outside of gold class.

I can respect that. It seems like everything is overpriced lately.

I recently realized used magnacut sebenza is in the same price range as a relatively pedestrian folder from most good knife makers.

Hamilton for me!
And facts, depends on which songs you’re listening to. They usually talk about Pateks.

How’s I’ve been feeling lately. Oh well what can ya do. I’m a CRK fan… haven’t felt too much love for the Spyderco yet.

I get a laugh out of the Gold class range and their price points. Benchmade as of late has gone off the deep end in pricing compared to quality. Every Benchmade I have handled at a retailer has been off centered, excessive blade play and has had dogshit sharpening.

That's why my last and final Benchmade was the 163BK.. no blade play, on center, still dogshit edge.

~from and idiot that bought a 163BK

I wouldn't pay $50 for a gold class bugout, let alone $850.. generally, the more colorful, or greater number of times "carbon" and or "-mascus" appears in the name, the less I care.. the fact that none of that "fancy" sh!t appeals to me has saved me a lot of money over the years..

that said, to each their own..
