Good All-Around Pocket Knife for Under $50?

I am glad to see threads like this one. Sometimes Bladeforum members get wrapped up in arguements over how nothing kess than a Sebenza is worth buying, but it must be pointed out that the vast majority of people cannot afford such expensive knives, no matter how good these knives are. In fact a sizeable portion of our population can't even put $50 in a knife. That is why you see the $8 Chinese and Pakistani folders for sale in every convience store.

I think Spydies have to be considered, I was skeptical, don't like a lot of modern designs, but they are all well-made, a good buy and are the sharpest things out there aside from some moras.

And may I say, as long as I'm being windy and opinionated, that Opinels blow. Yeah, they're pretty sharp what with the blade geometry and all, but the locking mechanism is a joke, I don't trust them enough to use much beyond gardening, they're rickety as heck, maybe for spreading some pate about on a picnic, but man I wouldn't EDC them unless you only plan on confronting an enraged brie now and then.

last week i ordered a Xicar 780B, it cost 39 usd and i was really impressed by quality...
It comes in a small nice box, with a small allen key...
For a sheap knife, it is really well made and scary sharp, despite the blade which is made from 440A.
But for that price, don't expect A2 or even 154CM .... ;)

and in addition, almost nobody in this forum has it yet ! :)
