Good beater folding knife? Cheaper edc?

instead of going out and spending more money to be able to loan out a knife why not just grab a smaller-medium sized knife that sees no action in your edc out of your collection? i usually bring along a older buck paraframe styled knife to hand out to guys at work. because i don't want my zt 0300 walking off. but why not grab a old knife out that draw lol

(...)But when i need to hand a knife over to someone else id rather give them a cheaper knife (...)

Tell them to beat it and get their own tools. :p

But if you want a knife for you that wouldn't upset you too much if it was ruined, grab a SAK.

You can pick-up a cheap knife at any "chain store" sporting goods section(Walmart, Kmart, etc.). If your reason for having it is to let others use it, what does it matter what it is?

Personally, I almost never give anyone my knives to use and those who are allowed are people that I trust with a sharp knife near me. I have no trouble telling someone "no, get your own knife." Or I'll cut whatever needs to be cut myself.

My wife just bought me a Kershaw Crown from wallyworld for christmas.
This knife is awesome. $10, micarta scales, linerock, KERSHAW, very tight, check some of the reviews here on bladeforums.

Probably one of the best beater knives Ive ever owned, and makes a great gift/loaner/first knife.
I heard rumors that this is a Walmart exclusive, which means wallyworlds massive buying power finally did something good and brought a very good product to us at a very good price.
This knife isnt as nice as a leek but they would pass for a $40 knife all day long.

KA-BAR Dozier folder, all the way. weighs nothing, is slicey as all get out, and there are a ton of configurations to chose from. cheap too.

Boker makes their version of the Sodbuster...but a locking version, which can be had for $20 or less. Nice little beater knife. Well made and does the job.

I second this version of the Sod Buster as a great user/beater & sheeple friendly.
