Good boot knife?

Haha. Sorry about that. Yes thank you everyone for your input. It really helped a lot to narrow down my search. You guys are the ones that lead me to choose a scale-less knife

But his scales are so nice! I dig though for your purpose. How are you planning on carrying it - clipped in?

Charlie, I dig that little holdout knife. Really clean design.

Yeah I plan on clipping it to the inside of my boot. I ride with my jeans over the boot so it shouldn't be a problem retaining the knife in the sheath at all with how low it sits in there. It looks like the perfect setup

Thanks I Icehawk . They were made for me by my friend Mike "Tap" Vatalero of Tap's Bit and Spur Shop. Here he is (in the polka dot wildrag) talking to my son before my son's run in the finals of the Pro Am last year.

If you've ever seen one of my engraved knives, Mike does all the engraving for me:

We also have several of his bridle bits. He made the two on the right:

Fortunate in our gear and our friends.

Your friend is clearly a man of style. Lovin' that wide flat brim hat!

If you're going for a pattern welded blade @hellize from Rumania does a pretty good job at a great price. He has done a couple of knives of my own design. Great quality. Also if you're looking for a scale-less knife I recommend the Joker boot knife(btw, just like the other knife I recommended the top edge is a false edge). Made in Spain. Pretty cool little knife.

I have a Buck 102 with Cocobolo handle that would deserve a better sheath. I made some changes in an existing sheath with mediocre results. My idea is to make a new sheath in boot knife style with belt/boot clip, now that I know where to get the materials.

Lapedog Lapedog Yep lots of "flat hatters" as the "taco hatters" like to call us around here. Me out fixing fence Sunday:

And to keep it knife related, back to Sunday and fixing fence. Trespassers had cut four out of five strands of wire to get in here:
