good cheap knife?

Gingivitiskahn, Wally World has the original Buck 110 for $27.00 and change, don't know about the $25.00 ones.
 
I haven't had an AUS8 folder in years. How does the Rat 1's steel stack up to the inexpensive 8cr13mov in the Tenacious?? I'm guessing they're pretty comparable?

I have the Tenacious and love it, the Rat 1 looks very comparable and nice. Both are around the same price, with a beefy build, and fit and finish far above their price range.

I bought this one at Wal-Mart for about $28.00 dollars.
 
If you can find a Boker Trance, that was the first one I bought when I got back into knives and it's still one of my favorites. Just fits my hand well, well built, and sharp out of the box. I paid about $25 for mine new a year or two ago.
 
You won't find a better quality or value for the dollar than the US made Buck 110. JMO.
 
Another vote for Ontario's Rat-1 folder. It is a fabulous value in a very practical size and geometry. I have given away several to friends and they also love it.
 
Rat1 all the way, I recently had some in for testing and the performance and comfort of that knife will easily rival knives 5x the cost. The AUS8 steel has a very high quality heat treat allowing excellent performance even at the 10 degree per side test angle that I used. The liner lock on this knife is beefy too.
 
Yep. RAT1. Be sure to get the one with satin finish though.
Even thought the knife is awesome the black coating scratches off like paint.
Because of the paint the gimping is slightly rounded and not really grippy, but the satin version doesn't have this problem.
I love mine. Picked one up second hand but 'like new' for $20. One of the best knives I have. You won't regret it :)

Go to the dealers section $24 special on Rat-1's I already have a black and a satin. My Tenacious is really good and you can't go wrong with a Kershaw.

"Too many knives and too little money" :D
 
Get a Mora...in fact for $25 get two.

Woops...missed the folder specification sorry. Save this thought for a cheap fixed blade knife.

absolutely... aus8 steel and very very very sturdy and well built folder.. i love mine to death. its been through hell and back and sharpens to a razor edge. in fact i need to buy another incase the one i have gets lost or stolen bc the damn thing wont break ( it will if you absolutely try but for a cheap folder, hard to beat imo)

i camp with it, skin deer, clean fish, you name it.

the Rat Aus8 is very easy to sharpen. very easy!... it holds its edge ok.. not the best but i am pretty picky so when i use mine throughout the day i run it on a strop at the end of the day and wham its back to a razor.. when i camp i just take my stone and strop with me like most do.
