Good folder for under $200??

Yeah, I've seen those. That is why I added the word "affordable" to my post. ;)

I would still love to have a set of those, though.......

True, I did see that but thought I'd toss it out there for viewing pleasure :p. After buying a griptilian and then tossing the price of a griptilikin onto that, you might as well buy a ZT knife or a sebenza for a couple of dollars more

I'd suggest the Spyderco Military, the ZT 0200, BM 710 or this Beretta BH Tactical. A courteous forum brother recommended this knife to me when I was looking at the Lone Wolf Harseys. Beretta is selling them for a DEEP discount. $89and $99 for the small and large respectively. They retailed for $200 and $250 originally. Harsey design, made by Fox Cutlery in Italy, CMP S30V steel, G10 scales, titanium liners and pocket clip. They are very light for a tactical knife too. An awesome knife! Not just for what I paid either. I bought two large and two smalls. Here's the link:

Thanks for posting this. Knifecenter is selling them for 209.99. What a bargain a Beretta!!

One is on the way.

I realize that there is NO hype behind it, and I could have never "got it" until owing/carrying one, but the Spyderco Native is my favorite knife that I own... and they are ALL much "higher end" knives. It's funny... I handled it a few times at Walley World, digging the USA make, and I NEVER liked it... until I just decided to buy it anyway. I practically had to make myself carry it (vs. a Sebenza) for the first day.. but then I was hooked. It really is the perfect EDC.. not too small, not too big... LIGHT, and I'm REALLY liking the heat treat on the S30V...It's acting more like 154CM.. great edge retention, not tooo hard. I've had GREAT results with edge upkeep. Seriously, I could go on and on about this knife... To see more of what I think... I did do a Youtube video about it... I'm iAMboognish on youtube. Of course, It may not be the end all beat all knife, but it is PERFECT for what it is.

I want that knife badly. It looks like it'd be perfect for work, and I happen to work at wal mart, so i'd get a discount on it. but they deleted the knife from our store! so now I gotta go to a different store and see if they have it there.

under 200 you can find something along the lines like an osbourne 940 or a kulgera, or if you want a bit more reach the spyderco police 3 is a great choice

It was mentioned before, but for a good-sized, tough folder, look at the BM 610. I don't own one, but have handled models belonging to friends, and it is an amazing knife.

The Grip is more in my price range, though, which is why I own it instead.

knivesandguns,
I've yet to see the ZT0301's for under $200.

Where do you get'em?

Thanks

Hey JTR, sorry for taking forever to reply, didn't see this post back up.

On the bay, I've seen them go for less than $200, and here on the exchange, slightly used ones have dipped under $200 as well.

I remember hearing a guy scoring one for like $160 NIB on the forums somewhere.... lucky guy.

OK, here's the deal. I am looking to upgrade my EDC. I am looking for a 3.5 to 4 inch blade, with a tip up carry, AUS8 or a metal of similar quality. Partial serrations are a plus. Cosmetics are not a big issue, just toughness. Help a guy out and give me your suggestions. Thanks.

Al Mar Sere or Mini Sere. Both have tip up carry. Both have lock-ups like a tank, with no play in the blades. G10 handles, VG-10 blade steel, Tough, high quality, and designed by Green Beret, Al Mar. These are no nonesense, using knives for serious people. Just what the doctor ordered.
