I don't know what the exchange rate is for Canadian $$$ but I think either way you would be paying more for the sharpmaker than the knife itself. The sharpmaker is a great tool that a lot of people really recommend, but you could also spend around $20 USD on a good Norton coarse/fine stone that will last a really long time and also let you learn the art of freehand sharpening. It's not really as hard as it seems.

Using SOG's Hardcased Tini coating, the Jungle Primitive is durable and comfortable with a molded Kraton® handle that features Digi'Grip™, a way to guarantee gripping power where you need it. One can instantly turn the Primitive into a small machete, limb saw or hammer. Includes a Nylon sheath with utility pouch.

The blade is made of 420 stainless steel coated by SOG's own Hardcased BlackTiNi. Blade measures a full 9-1/2" in length with a combination cutting edge a saw tooth serrations on the back. Weighs 14.0 oz. Made in China.

Plus, a killer black look ! Awesome ! However at 45$ I think the metal might be cheap.

Hee, hee, hee, - Rambo would be so proud - Sorry I couldn't help myself. :D

I don't really know. I'm a bit of a collector too. Black blaades and serrated edge are so nice. I really like.

So, normally I would check for function first, steel quality, which i have not checked before on this knife, then look, and if it's available in black

however ,

knifezone.ca list the 420 steel of this knife as :

Just as there are different knives for different uses, there are different steels for different applications. The following is a generalized listing of steel characteristics with 1 being the best of the group and 12 being the poorest in the group.

420 Steel
Edge Retention 11
Ease of Sharpening 1
Toughness 6
Stain Resistance 5
Overall Average 12

So, I'll ask.. Is this knife just LOOK good ? The steel seems easy to sharpen, however it don't seems to became dull so quickly ! And I don't think the "saw" is sharpened, it's juste shape in the steel , right ?

I really don't know if i should buy this knife.

I say that if you have $120 to spend, get yourself a Cold Steel SRK or a Ka-Bar and a Spyderco Sharpmaker. That combo should fit in your budget.

Yeah.. It's just big. However the Steel is cheap !

I think the Cold Steel SRK is really nice tho. Seems to hold an edge well. And razor sharp, and it's a black blade. Pricey tho - 110$ cad , but hey, I can't have high end steel at 60$!
