Good leather wallets?

Since Busse fans/owners are obviously people who appreciate finer things (leather bound books and rich mohogany), I turn to you for a new wallet. Sure I can just buy some leather tri-fold off the shelf in Sears... but whats the fun in that? I need to be amazed by an overkill of quality and features. I need to know I can zip line across some canyon using nothing but my wallet and paracord. I need to be convinced that my leather wallet started out as some Yak in the himalayas and was cultivated and groomed to be nothing more than a 4"x4" square of folded leather which will sit mere microns from my ass. :D

...so please... suggest away!
 
Both interesting. The Ray Skin ones look very nice. I'm a tri-fold fan. Anyone else? What's that company that makes those awesome leather atache bags and day trip bags? Someone posted their new bag here a while ago.
 
I got my Stingray Billfold Wallet from Adam Unlimited several years ago at Blade. The leather on the edges is starting to show wear and the stingray has lost one pebble at the fold, but its still holding together just fine.

I noticed those pebbles... seems kinda... well... gay. Is the whole wallet covered in em?

*edit.... wait, wait, wait... am I an idiot? Are those pebbles part of the ray's skin?
 
I like the durability of the stingray skin wallets, but all that shiny crap is a bit gaudy for me. Maybe I oughtta buy one and hit it with a can of Krylon :D

Me too. Still nice looking though. Didn't ThatMguy or someone buy some new leather bag we all Oooo'd and Ahhh'd over?

Are you thinking of the Saddleback Leather Company bags that I'mGatMan! and Dark Nemesis (among others) got recently?
They do have some small and large wallets available, but I haven't seen bi- or tri-folds.

Saddleback is VERY nice and has some interesting wallets. I've had my bag for almost 3 years and LOVE it still. They have some new wallet designs as of last week or so.

Ron Bryant at OTM is a MONSTER for stitching and carving, as are Kevin King and Travis Walker. Allen at Big Papa really specializes in carving, but makes some nice stuff nonetheless.

I am not sure you can make good leather wallet. Every one I ever had fell apart in a year.

As mentioned above I think the exoctic skins hold up a lot better for something that is sat on all the time, soaking up sweat:D

I love rattlesnake. I was not optimistic that it would hold up but I have had it for almost two years and its still nice. The only negative was when I dumped the canoe this summer the snakeskin didnt take too well to a soaking. After it dried, I put lotion on it and its good again.

ITs another option...

also missed a couple of previous post especially the one above. I also like the bags suggested by Gatman, but just have never had a good experience with leather wallets, but I am a big fatt HOG and I sweat.:D

Bingo! Sorry for the name mix up. Saddleback was what I was thinking of.
 
Wow! Some of those wallets wont leave me with any money to actually put IN the wallet. Saddleback is more my style. The Saddleback, bi-fold large looks pretty cool. Thanks again guys.
 
Since we are dropping 500/knife here, I think it only fair to let you know I carry a Louis Vuitton. Yes its pricey, but it is super high quality. Its very durable and also very stylish.

If I had a louis vuitton wallet, I'd kick my own ass... YMMV. :D
 
I just got the saddleback little business style wallet today. It is very good quality at a good price. I got tired of having a large trifold so opted for something a little smaller. Works awesome and looks sweet. I also just got a small satchel from them as well. Very sweet day bag. If you want me to post some pics, let me know and ill grab my camera and shot some for ya
